This was our first visit to Chava's, and we already know it will be the first of many! The restaurant is a small place with a lively, welcoming atmosphere. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We started with the chips and salsa, which are better than most we've tried—a great sign of what was to come! We both really enjoyed our house margaritas; they were perfectly made. For our entrees: My wife had the tamales, and she immediately declared them the best she has ever had—high praise! I ordered the chimichanga with ground beef and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Chava's delivers on all fronts: great food, excellent service, and a wonderful neighborhood vibe. We can't wait to come back!

The restaurant is Tex-Mex with a lively atmosphere and a great outdoor dining section. I would recommend the Fajitas with steak + chicken if coming here. Try the churros as well. Our appetizers weren’t okay, the salsas and the nachos were fine. I would recommend getting the guacamole. Our server would leave our table for large portions of times and it took a while to get our order in.

Best Mexican restaurant! If we are ever in St Louis again, we will definitely eat here again! Marinated chicken inside the quesadilla, not shredded junk like some restaurants. I had the chicken fajitas and the chicken was very tender and delicious. Homemade salsa. and guacamole was really good too. Saturday night at 5:30 and there’s only 2 empty tables, that should tell you everything you need to know!!! We had to park a few streets away but it was definitely worth the walk. The couple at the table next to us had margaritas and they were $20 each. Supposedly delicious but we had ice tea and the staff kept our drinks full.

It's July 4th & after a hard gym session, all I wanted to do is eat a protein pack fajita meal. Most places we're closed along with all the Mexican restaurants in the city. I just decided to drive into Soulard & amazingly this place was opened. I figured, why not. I'm glad that I did. It's beautifully designed with both in door & out door seating. I sat in doors, air conditioning was definitely felt🙏🏽 Food is FANTASTIC! I had the chicken fajita and club soda. Before the meal came out, I was given homemade chips & dip. DELICIOUS! I'm a bodybuilder so this place was spot on & I'll definitely be back. Great atmosphere & people were kind. Waiter was outstanding! I know he was extremely busy but his kindness throughout this establishment is another reason that I'll be back. Great job! TIP your servers folks🧋

This is literally one of the best Mexican restaurants in the city! From the beginning with fresh tortilla chips and salsa(hint of heat) everything is literally delicious. All meats are seasoned, the margaritas have a kick frozen and/or on the rocks, and you honestly can't go wrong with any menu option. A favorite of mine was the Chimi until recently when I tried the big fresh salad which was HUGE!!!!!!!!! I also love how they place the cheese and meat on your chip when selecting nachos. Again, I have yet to try anything that I was disappointed about whether food and/or beverage wise.
