I remember visiting months ago and how kind/passionate the staff were. Much of this gallery felt like a positive step forward for contemporary art in Vancouver. Intentional curation. Tip: If the entry seems exorbitant, use it towards a membership. I think it's only a few dollars extra.

Visited the Jennifer Carvalho exhibit and her artworks are gorgeous. It’s so impressive to see them in full size in person. The gallery space is beautiful and provides a wonderful atmosphere to display these artworks.

$25 at the door for a small exhibit is unheard of where I'm from but cheers to James Jean I guess. I wish it also featured his previous works that people know him for! Oh, and they'll reward you with a sticker set in exchange for a positive Google Maps review. 🥴

The James Jean exhibition at CICA in Vancouver is a wonderful display of his art within a thoughtfully curated space. The gallery provides an intimate environment that perfectly highlights Jean’s intricate, surreal works. The gallery’s well-lit, open layout enhances the experience, allowing visitors to appreciate the fine details and vibrant colors in Jean’s pieces. I personally love James Jean and was very excited to get so up close to his work and see the process behind it as well. They were also selling exclusive merch and art, which is always a nice touch. Would highly recommend!

Visited the gallery for the James jean exhibit and it was cool getting to see some of his process. The space itself is nice and has two floors to display works. The entry price was on the higher end for a gallery but they do have student pricing. If you are interested in visiting more of their exhibits it might be worth getting a membership that allows for unlimited entry.
