We’re so happy we had Coast Catering cater our wedding. Rachel was there every step of the way, from answering questions, to assisting with the tasting, and helping pick out rentals to match our vision. During our wedding, she brought us some food to make sure we could eat while we were busy taking photos after the ceremony which was such a nice touch. They made us feel so taken care of and were so receptive to any tweaks we wanted to make during the tasting. We also got so many compliments about the food from guests. The food at our wedding was even better than we remembered from the tasting!
Coast Catering easily has some of the best food in San Diego! They are professional and truly care about creating the most delicious dishes. Whenever we're photographing/filming a wedding and see them on the vendor list, we know we're in for an amazing dinner. We couldn't recommend them enough!

Rachel and Barry were both fantastic in helping us prepare for our special wedding and made two separate trips to create a floor plan that would efficiently maximize the space we were working with. They took care of our wedding and did a phenomenal job with set up, attention to detail, and great customer service. Their willingness to listen and work with us for our dream wedding was what made our special day so incredible. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were friendly, and their ability to creatively solve any issues with space for tables, chairs, and other set ups was above and beyond. If you're considering Coast Catering and Crown Rentals for your wedding, you won’t regret it—they were truly exceptional. With a destination wedding in SD, we relied on our venue and planners’ recommendations, and Coast exceeded every expectation with both their incredible food and top-tier service. Our guests have continued to rave about how amazing the food and drinks were from the appetizers to the entrees to the drinks! The standout dishes were the lobster and caviar cones, tomato bisque and grilled cheese crostinis, and the filet! A crowd favorite were the espresso martini shooters brought out during the cake cutting! A fun and delicious pick-me-up before the dancing began. What truly set them apart, though, was the flawless service and attention to flow, making everything run smoothly and seamlessly. We also felt genuinely cared for, receiving our own tray of appetizers and extra bites at dinner—a small but memorable touch on a perfect day.
If you are a bride deciding whether to hire Coast Catering and Crown Rentals for your wedding, stop scrolling book right now! We were new to the San Diego area when we got engaged, which meant we had no local knowledge of best vendors or caterers. Our wedding planners immediately recommended Coast Catering as the best in the business, and having now worked with them I can confirm they are incredible. Not only is the food amazing, but they are some of the kindest people to work with and the service they provide day of is beyond perfect. Our first introduction to Coast was at our tasting. The tasting was fun and the food was delicious. We so enjoyed meeting the incredible chef Barry Layne and Chelsea, the Director of Sales who worked with us throughout the wedding planning process. Barry and Chelsea were so kind and thoughtful with us during the whole tasting, answering our questions, letting us try multiple dishes and appetizers, and explaining to us how the process would work during the next year plus that we were planning our wedding. The hardest part of the tasting was deciding among the many delicious options. As I'm sure many couples can relate to, we have gone to a LOT of weddings during the last few years, and we understand from friends that even the best tasting is not always an indication of how the food will taste day of, when cooked for 150+ guests. Let me be clear: if anything, our food from Coast Catering was even BETTER on the day of the wedding than it was at the tasting, if that's possible. We picked the filet, petaluma chicken, and gnocci for our main dishes, and it was all incredible. We also can't speak highly enough about the arugula salad, which I wish we could eat every day of my life! And the other stars of the show were our passed appetizers: the tuna tacos, sliders, and mac and cheese bites. I could go on and on but to sum it up: it was all incredible, and I'm hoping to get invited to another Coast-catered event soon to eat it all again. A friend messaged us the day after the wedding and said: "I talk a lot about how nobody remembers food from weddings, but this may be an outlier for me." The only thing that was better than the food itself was Coast's service, which was spectacular. Our wedding planners advised us that a major reason to book with Coast is because they ensure the timing of everything is pristine, but I did not know how true that was with Coast until the day of our wedding. Flow is so important to ensuring your day goes smoothly, and Coast crushed it out of the park for us. The servers were so kind and served meals in sync, a small and wonderful touch that so many of our guests commented on and appreciated. I wouldn't change a thing about our day, and a lot of that is thanks to Coast's excellent execution of the food and service. And finally (I could go on and on, as you can see), what I appreciated so much was Chelsea's and Coast's attention to my husband and I the day of the wedding. We had appetizers delivered to us by a server at the very start of cocktail hour-- after hearing from tons of friends that at their own weddings, they never got to try the passed apps. We even had EXTRA apps delivered to us during dinner, which we happily gobbled down as we took a moment to spend time together at the sweetheart table, admiring our big day having come together. Everyone was so kind and thoughtful to us, which I will always remember. Just trust me: book Coast Catering (and Crown Rentals) for your wedding. They helped make our day perfect, and I know they will do the same for you, too!
