Riders should be aware that one must climb up and over the side of the basket to enter or exit. Consider having a step available for those with total knee or hip replacements or limited mobility. Downtime while waiting for balloon inflation and deflation/loading onto carry vehicle is a bit long, but the overall experience was great.

We had an excellent experience with Compass Balloons. They were flexible in moving our flight up by two days due to anticipated weather conditions. On the day of the flight, the team carefully assessed wind patterns before launch. The balloon ride lasted over an hour, and the landing was smooth and impressive. Overall, the experience was well-organized and memorable. Highly recommended—our pilots, Ryan and Hector, were outstanding.

Wonderful experience. We had a beautiful day and our driver was so knowledgeable on everything! We traveled over 6 miles because of his skills with reading the wind, chased coyotes 😊, saw a breathtaking by sunrise and had an amazing time. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful experience! First time on a hot air balloon and the great crew of awesome and experienced people at Compass Balloons made it an absolute treat! We were fortunate to take off on a day with perfect weather and rare super clear visibility seeing all the way to Catalina Island and beyond to the north and Tijuana to the south. Amazing 360 degree views of San Diego, and the sunset was stunning. Take off and landing were very smooth and we cruised at different altitudes for just over an hour while our knowledgeable and funny pilot Ryan kept us informed and entertained the entire time. We celebrated our memorable flight after landing with a champagne toast and a lovely group photo to close out an absolutely epic journey. I can't recommend this enough!!! Thanks Compass!! ❤️

The crew was awesome. They know what they're doing. If you've never been on a Hot Air Balloon I highly recommend making them your first experience. You get to see how they set everything up. It's pretty remarkable. Only negative is it's not really a sunset ride. I don't know why they call it that. More of an afternoon ride! You don't get to watch the Sun set behind the horizon.
