I played in a tournament in April with an entrance fee of 225.00. The greens were in terrible shape and before we all went to our assigned tee box, we were given a recovery voucher for 50.00 to come back and play due to the green conditions. The voucher had an expiration date of 10/27/25. Shortly after that tournament, the course closed for complete renovation. I communicated with the pro shop numerous times and was told the course would be closed till end of November and the voucher will be honored into the new year. I talked to pro shop yesterday and was told the voucher expired on 12/31/25. Not sure how they expected over 200 people plus their members to play in December along with the holidays. Extremely disappointed not only with the green conditions during the tournament, but also the lack of time to honor the vouchers they gave out.
I believe this course will eventually arrive at the standard they seem to set for it, but it doesn't seem to me to be there yet, at least for their current price point. Played there on January 2nd. No range available (though apparently opening within a month or so), and was invited to hit into these small nets or use the chipping range to warm up. Such a rinky dink option that it feels probably better just to remove those sad little hitting nets and apologize for the lack of range. Very recently remodeled, so the greens were all very new. Hopefully they mature, and they are fairly even now, but felt like putting on velcro, with a considerable amount of putting uncertainty and extra variability as a result. Also, we were told right as we were about to tee off that it was cart path only on every hole. Not from weather, but to preserve the new remodel work for awhile. Neither this nor the lack of range was communicated at all to any of us who played that day. None of this would be too bad were it not for the expectations arising from the $320 price (one of the priciest if not the priciest golfing option in the DFW area). Feels like they opened the course up a bit early to try to recoup some of their investment sooner, which is fine as long as the price is lowered commensurate with the reduced quality in experience. The personnel must be in a difficult spot because such comments, even though gently delivered as questions and feedback, were met with defensiveness instead of a more appropriate focus on the customer experience. On the positive side, the cart staff and the restaurant staff were all very pleasant and engaging, and the layout of the course was interesting, pleasant, and enjoyable. Hoping to revisit this course later to see if they've matured in the above mentioned trouble areas as it seems promising.
Edit: This is a response to the manager's reply. Just so everyone is clear, not only does the gift expire within 1 year, they can also pull a "bait and switch" on the price whenever they choose. Poor way to do business for people who are trying to buy as a Christmas gift for family / friends. Will not buy again. This review is specifically for purchasing golf rounds as gifts through their official website (not for the golf course experience itself). I bought a round of golf for my parents as a Christmas gift last year via the website, with a 1-year validity period. When my parents recently tried to redeem it, they were initially told they'd need to pay extra due to a price increase since the original purchase. After some back-and-forth, the staff finally honored it and let them play. I was shocked that they almost didn't honor a fully paid gift voucher. Buyer beware—if you're considering buying rounds as gifts, there's a high risk they will not fully honor them in the future.
As other's have stated recently, this course is in unplayable condition. We paid for the VIP experience and whoever owns this course should be absolutely ashamed that they are stealing this money with the current conditions. The tee boxes and fairways were nice. The greens are dead. Also, I'm not sure they've raked a bunker this year. I was looking forward to playing here as I know it's normally very nice. I gave it 1-star because you have to give a star and also the lunch and dinner were good. I will NEVER return, and I hope other's reading this review heed my advice.
Played golf today August-2024. Course was in very good shape. Greens were still a little bumpy because of maintenance. But another week they should be perfect. Some of the bunkers need attention. They are hard dirt instead is sand. The restaurant was excellent! Had pulled pork chillguilles for breakfast. Smoked garlic wings- Caesar salad- & salmon for lunch. All were delicious! All staff very friendly! Recommend going on a voucher- unless you find mind spending a lot of money. But I always enjoy this course! Side note: all good is included with your green fee. Thus includes what’s on the cart & amazing jalapeño sausages after hole 7 & 11. Excluding alcohol.
