UPDATE 1/24/2026: I emailed the contact listed in the owners response to this review. It has been almost a month since I sent that email and I have yet to receive a reply. I have since blocked the monthly charge to my credit card Crunch keeps trying to get from me. I keep getting emails that my account is over due and I am being charged fees for not paying. If Crunch sends this to collections I will be getting a lawyer and fighting this in court. How ridiculous! No way am I going to let a box gym affect my credit score because they failed to acknowledge and honor my membership cancellation. ORIGINAL REVIEW 1/1/2026: I canceled my membership in person per Crunch policy on September 26th. The last fee I should have seen would be October 26th since they require a 30 day notice. I was charged November 26th despite canceling my membership. The front desk told me to email the manager on December 17th explaining the situation. I did, but got no reply. I called the gym again, and the front desk told me the manager was unavailable but assured me they took care of the issue and I would get a refund within 3-5 business days. Instead of a refund, I was charged again December 26th. Crunch now owes me 2 months of fees. Have yet to speak to a manager even though it has been requested multiple times. I also keep receiving emails/calls that my account has a past due balance, which is impossible when I have a credit card statement showing the membership fee paid each month. This needs to be reconciled!
A staff member drove my friend to a different gym by making a completely inappropriate remark to him in front of others. My combination lock was cut by a staff member when a gym member said he couldn’t get into his locker. We had the same color locks and he picked mine instead of his. The staff member then went thru my wallet in order to come find me and tell me what he had done. I had to cancel my cards out of precaution.
The gym itself is nice and clean. However, the way they handle their billing feels like a scam. I was continually charged after being told by staff that my membership was paused initially, then cancelled, and was never refunded money that I was told I would be. To clarify since the management cannot take accountability: I did freeze my account and was still billed within the 90 days that my account was frozen. In fact, I was charged for all 90 days that my account was supposedly "frozen". And then, decided to cancel when months went by and I was never refunded. This location clearly does not train their staff well in member services. I needed to pause my membership, as I was not going to be needing it for a few months - which I requested and told by a staff member that I was successfully paused for the next three months. However, the next month came around and I was charged for that fee. I brought this up to the staff, and they said it was an error and I would be refunded but it would be handled for the next month. 2 weeks went by and I was charged AGAIN and never received the first months refund. I went in at that point to cancel my membership, and received written confirmation from the location manager that I would be refunded and my membership was cancelled. With the previous experience I had I was skeptical that my membership was actually cancelled - so I blocked charges going further at my bank's level. It was a good thing that I did that because I received notice that they tried to charge me for a THIRD MONTH and I still have not been refunded for the original two that i was falsely charged for. Now I am receiving non-stop emails and calls from their company saying I owe them money. At this point, the way that they go about their billing feels like a scam because even if you try and cancel, they will still charge you anyways!! And then they will send you constant emails and leave threatening voicemails saying you owe them money even after the membership was canceled!
I find it incredibly hard to explain how important Hunter was to me! I’ve had trainers before! But when I started working with him I was post surgery, injured, and kind of afraid of the gym. It felt like age and time were catching up to me and I was a shell of my youth and I was only like, 35. He’s so knowledgeable, and he was able to help me with things that had hindered me for ages. Shoulder problems, flexibility issues. My old trainers had struggled with those things, even a physical therapist had But Hunter is really amazing at tailoring workouts to my needs specifically. Not a pdf that gets sent to all his clients but something that works for me. As I changed, the exercises did too. He helped me maintain consistency, with laughter, encouragement, empathy, and gentle bullying (lol). I tend to give up on stuff a lot but he never lets me quit! Since we started I lost 35 lbs but what’s more important to me is that my breathing is better, I’m in less pain. My body feels stronger and my mind does too. I’m happy I’m moving but I wish I could take him with me because I don’t think I’ll find another trainer that actually makes me WANT to go to the gym. But I kind of want to go for myself now, which is nice
Don't join here, they charge you even when you move out of state. You sign up for another Crunch location that is opening in a few months, get told you're switching your membership. You login to the app and it says Madison is home gym, but your membership scan barcode is missing as you haven't been assigned one from your new gym. The new gym opens in three months, you don't expect to be charged $50 for a month that the new location assured you would be "switched over" to this home location. Even my account says I have made $0 so far towards the gym membership, why would I think I owe a months membership fees and now a late fee? Then you call and they're like, no you didn't cancel with us, we don't have access to anything. They could waive this and cancel, but they are not great people here. Apparently, when your grandpa goes through stage 4 pancreatic and dies while you are already moving across the country, you better make sure to call them. Even when you have been told you were switched over BY A DIFFERENT CRUNCH EMPLOYEE. (And after you logged back in, saw the updated mailing address and billing says you have never paid, and you no longer have a barcode on your app. Then, you call to ask for membership at this location, but a 2 hour time difference means you have to remember to call them back. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS AND FLYING BACK FOR AND ALL THIS TERRIBLE STUFF, CRUNCH MADISON WANTS YOUR MONEY ABOVE ALL ELSE
