Used to be very happy with this location due mostly to the excellent staff in the children's area who took great care of my kids, but recently a manager named Luis Ramirez has run out several excellent employees and the change in the children's area was immediate. Some of the new staff even let my daughter run out into the lobby, which mind you is like 6 feet from the FRONT DOOR!! Also started receiving calls about other peoples kids as if they cant keep the kids and parents straight. Being able to trust them with my kids is more important than everythjng else about the gym put together so unless this manager suddenly learns the value of competent and trustworthy employees (like he already had!), i cant recommend this location for anyone with kids.
I love the move from truefit to crunch. Should have switched a lot sooner, there's so much more equipment room not to mention the constant cleanliness of the gym. And everybody is sociable no judgment
Would give it 5 stars, but they need better upkeep. Like replacing the towel dispenser with the sanitizer bottle etc. that's my negative for the business, my negative next is other gym goer's do not put their plates or equipment back, or break machines trying to sound like Arnold in the 70s those machines back then could take a beating not the ones crunch uses.
I just relocated from Dallas where the gyms are amazing and top tier but in this case, The gym itself is nice but the overall cleanliness isn’t the best. The women’s locker room is always filthy and disgusting! Roaches, hair, dirty floors, the sauna is disgusting. I’m going to try another location and if all of the San Antonio locations are like this I am definitely canceling my membership. I gagged at dirty bathrooms and nasty floors.
I was in town seeing a friend and we decided to go grab a workout at the closet Crunch. As you walk in, the store is really well lit and nicely set up. It was a little busy, but started to thin out as I started my work out. The young person working the front was very accommodating. I had a guest with me and this person easily checked my friend in. I did see a guy with at tripod talk to the front desk person. I had joked with them that I thought it was funny he had a tripod because filming at Crunch is against policy. The person laughed and tried to brush it under the rug. Filming at the gym is distracting, especially if I want to get in and get out. I do not need to worry if I am stepping in someone else's "shot". This gym has the typical issues that most gyms have. Gym patrons leave their paper towels and half drank water bottles all over the place. It is not the gym's fault for this. They can not police everyone. The machines were in good working order and well maintained. I did see a second person working who was also helping out with the front desk. I assume he was cleaning, as he had gloves on. He was not overtly friendly at all. To me, I thought that was just his personality. He was short and to the point. The mens restroom had a pressure washer sitting near the sinks. I guess that is a good way to quickly clean the showers. There were a few soap/shampoo dispensers in the showers that were broken. I had to hold to up, just to get soap as I showered. My female friend told me she also experienced the same exact thing in the female restroom. Overall, this place is a bad place to stop in and grab a workout. I am not going to rate the fact that other gym patrons tend to feel the need to leave their trash everywhere. It was nice seeing folks not "camping out" on machine, or bringing everything they own in a huge bag, parking it next to a machine and almost causing a trip hazard. There are a few minor issues with soap dispensers and I might have caught them while they were cleaning the restrooms, which is why they had a pressure washer in the mens restroom out.
