We invested in a whole landscape redesign with Cutters Landscaping four years ago. I wanted to give the landscape time to mature before reviewing, but the long-term results have only highlighted the poor execution of the project. While they completed the job, there were several major issues, largely stemming from a complete lack of oversight: 1. Absent Project Management: The project manager was rarely on-site. When I pointed out initial flaws in the walkway spacing, I discovered the PM never even gave the workers the detailed design layouts to follow. 2. Ignored Design Plans: Because the crew didn't have the plans, garden beds were misplaced, wrong plant varieties were used, and our walkway dimensions were altered, resulting in awkwardly large steps between paving stones. 3. Poor Material Quality: The raised steel beds they installed are already disintegrating after just four years, well short of their expected lifespan. 4. Subpar Workmanship: I am still finding plants that were simply dropped into holes with broken roots and covered with mulch, without any soil packed around them. 5. Unbalanced Results: Due to the wrong varieties and placements, our yard now has huge bare patches mixed with overgrown areas that look completely unplanned. For a premium price point, I expected professional project management and attention to detail. If you use Cutters Landscaping, be prepared to act as your own project manager to ensure the crew actually knows what they are supposed to be doing.
