If I could sum up this experience in one word, it would be: disappointing. I rented a Harley Davidson Street Glide from Cycle Visions Rentals. The bike had over 60,000 miles — not ideal, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. That was a mistake. After riding it just 20 miles to visit family, the bike wouldn’t start. Despite being an experienced rider, I went through every possible solution before calling the shop for help. Their response? Immediate blame: • “You must have left the motorcycle on.” • “You should’ve bought the tow insurance.” • “You need to bring the bike here — we can’t help you.” No accountability. No support. No interest in even considering that their high-mileage rental might be the issue. I had to bump start the bike multiple times just to use it — including this morning, and again after filling it with gas before returning it. And still, when I mentioned the issue, I was told: “We’ve never had a problem with that bike.” Right — because clearly, if they haven’t experienced it, then the customer must be the problem. This shop rents out aging bikes and expects the customer to carry the burden when something goes wrong. There’s no ownership, no real customer care, and zero problem-solving. Rent elsewhere. At least then, if something goes wrong, you won’t be met with finger-pointing and indifference.
I was in town for just 2 days and actually only had 3 hours to ride, but rented from Cycle Visions and had a great experience. They let me take the pick of the litter and were very accomodating. I rode up the coast and back and was able to return it after hours without issue. Would definitely rent from them again.
Really friendly and stress free experience renting here. Easy and quick process. Nice selection of bikes. We each picked something different than the bikes we own. It was fun trying them out up in the hills of San Diego.
I rented an Indian Chieftain this weekend and the experience was professional and quick. These guys were well prepared and walked me through the process so I was well informed. The bikes are well maintained and low mileage, which provided me with a great deal of comfort on my 6 hour journey. I would use Cycle Visions again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a super day in San Diego area.
