Damascena is a nice place in a central location, making it an easy stop if you’re in the area. It’s centrally located with plenty of seating available both indoors and outside at the front. The décor and overall atmosphere are a real draw and add to the experience — we were taken to a very beautiful indoor room, which made the visit feel special. The menu is rich and varied, with plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans, and the drinks are good. Food was well cooked, served in good portions, and reasonably priced for the quality. Overall, it’s a great spot and I would definitely recommend a visit if you’re nearby.
A popular cafe in the city centre which is perfect for friends meet up or dates. Nicely decorated in Middle Eastern design. The menu boasts rich variety catered for different diets. We ordered the baked egg manakeesh, batata hara and mushroom kibbeh makliya. All the dishes were not disappointing and looking forward to the next visit to try out more dishes!
Served by Hossein today who looked after us extremely efficiently. Fantastic as always. This place is just wonderful. One of the best in Birmingham (for us, the food capital of the UK). The mushroom croquette is absolutely unreal, as is the fuul. We also had stuffed vine leaves, fried potatoes and shared a slice of avocado toast. We visit every time we're here with work and it does not disappoint. Beautiful discreet/quiet dining room in the back too. If you're in Brum and looking for extremely good food, look no further. Two for a very filling lunch was around £40 too so not stupidly expensive either. 10/10.
Beautiful locals in the center of town. You maybe lucky to find parking locally, but there's motorcycling parking right next to it. We were seated quickly with and the atmosphere is lovely inside and out. On good days there is seating outside. There's lots of drinks and food options which was a nice surprise. The menu has a fair number of vegetarian options available. Food arrived quickly and was nicer than I expected. It's a nice place to come to sadly the staff really need a moral boost. I understand it can get busy but a friendly demeanor would make the place that much more welcoming. All in all I'd be looking to pop by again. ENJOY.
A great spot to catch up with friends, grab a bite, have a meeting, or work. I visited last month for work meetings and was very satisfied with the food. Service can be a bit slow, and we often had to seek out a server or request attention. Our table also wasn’t cleared, so we ended up stacking dishes and glasses to make space. Highlights for me were the wraps, mannish, iced teas, and the Oreo milkshake -all excellent!

A Middle Eastern-inspired oasis in the heart of Birmingham, serving authentic coffee, food, and culture.
