The theater program has been wonderful at giving our child confidence and self strength.. the programs put on have been entertaining as the whole family comes and watched the theater performances.. the recent one was little mermaid and have to say it was really well done even better than the rental place it would normally be held, really enjoyed this one and keep it up-
No one ever answers the phone. I have called multiple times trying to register my daughter. No return phone calls I find that to be poor business.
l am one of the most brutally honest people you will ever meet. That being said, yes, the owner Chelsea Marie Bruce can sometimes be disorganized. It's not her strong suit. BUT what is her strong suit is making these kids believe in themselves. She believes in strongly creating relationships with each child and cares about them dearly. Are some kids better dancers than others. Yep! They sure are! But I can tell you my kid isn't that kid. But the director doesn't care. She spends time with her and so do the other teachers. She actually truly cares. This woman goes above and beyond. And more than anything her studio is like a family. My son who was seven at the time started with the studio last year. He's honestly not great at all. But she didn't care. She helped him. She talked about his strengths. When I went to her with concerns about some behaviors that I thought may be ADHD like his older brother, she was honest with me and told me she thought he had autism. And you know what? She was right. And she helped me draft letters to the doctor and agreed to have his therapist come to her classes. This weekend there is a performance in Orlando and she's driving my kids there and back. She doesn't have to do that. And it's just not my kids. My kids aren't the best by any means. But she does this for them ALL. And the best part is she teaches the kids to do the same. The amazing dancers at competitions always have people yelling out their names and people watching. But what does she do? She encourages them to go and cheer for EVERYONE. So when my little 8 year old autistic son is dancing his heart out on stage and forgetting his part during a COMPETITION these other dancers are screaming his name "Go Hunter!" And afterwards telling him all the things he did RIGHT. So that's the reason we stay. Is she a little disorganized? Sure. But that's not the only thing I need from her. She's teaching them to be amazing human beings. She's teaching them to dance. She's teaching them to care for each other and show kindness and generosity and everything else. I'll take that any day.
Let me start by saying, I don’t drink the koolaid, I’m not a die hard dance mom, nor am I ignorant to dance politics. But somehow I was blessed with a ballerina, so here we are lol. My daughter recently turned 9. She started at Dance 4 Life at 6. She had some ballet exposure before she started at this studio. She did 1 year of recital and then 2 yrs on the competitive team. Last season I started looking at other studios to see how they do things and to see if they could offer my daughter more in ballet. She even did the summer intensive at a ballet school and loved it. My daughter LOVES to work hard and we have to constantly reign her in. But I could see something missing in my daughter’s eyes. Her passion, her spark, how she performs…it wasn’t HER. She was executing the dance movements and learning new technique, but she was becoming a copy/ paste of every other dancer. Chelsea Marie Bruce Sees my daughter for who she is and doesn’t want her to change to become a copy/ paste version of other dancers. She celebrates her many skills and doesn’t box her in. Shes open to exploring new ideas and styles. It’s not strictly a ballet studio and she acknowledges that, but she’s willing to do what’s needed to help my daughter grow in ballet and feel supported. With that being said, I’ve spoken to her openly about the disorganization that some have commented on. She listened and she’s gotten it together. No studio is perfect. Others have safety issues, directors that push unhealthy eating habits and body images, that degrade their dancers… and the list goes on. I know this because I’ve seen it. I’m a competitive athlete myself, quality training is extremely important, but what’s equally (or even more) important is having a coach/ teacher/ mentor who truly cares, is passionate, and won’t hurt their athlete to get a win or because they think “that’s how it’s done”.
My daughter's overall confidence and strength is growing each day she attends Dance4life. Not to mention she is incredibly flexible in the little time she has been there. The teachers are loving, creative, hard working. They have and unlimited amount of patience. I don't even have enough words to describe them. Even with absence of the studio during pandemic they have worked hard to keep the children's spirit up and their interest in dance high. We absolutely love them.

Where dance builds confidence, character, and community for every child.
