I would highly consider finding another studio to enroll your children. The rude stares and gawks (from kids and adults) anytime we entered and were in the building felt as though it was 1940's and there was a "Whites Only" sign posted, that we somehow missed. Both of my girls felt uncomfortable and as if they did not belong. I took my 1-year old niece (who has special needs) on one visit, unfortunately she was tired and cried a few times and wanted to get down to play during the time we were there waiting for my daughter's class to be done. At most 45 seconds of crying and a minute of running around. The very next day I receive a "Studio Reminder" email that states crying babies should be taken outside, siblings should not run around the studio, etc. If you go to this place or have ever been, it is FULL of kids constantly running through the place, sitting in the middle of the floor, playing, being loud, eating, - basically being kids! I do not think it was coincidence the issues in the "reminder email" were brought up the next morning after myself, my girls, and niece were there. I immediately called to cancel the classes for my girls, the person on the phone didn't ask why or if there was any issues - I personally think they didn't want us there anyway. Just put a sign on the door! I will be finding another studio that is FUN & INCLUSIVE for kids of all races to enjoy the art of dance...as it should be :)
My little one is two and a half. She is in tap and ballet and couldn't be happier with Ms. Andrea! She is so wonderful and patient with the little ones!
I had a lot of fun during my time in this dance studio however I decided that I won't be returning to it. I liked my class but there was a lot of problems that I had with them, they were really friendly towards me but I felt like the time I've been there I really didn't learn anything at all except for a couple new moves as I was in one of their hip hop classes. We spent majority of our time learning the choreography for the recital which I had no problem with but there was never any learning of foundation for hip hop and I really didn't improve much. As I was trying for one of their other classes, the teacher wasn't there to guide me and I had to seek help from another student. When recital came, I felt really uncomfortable with how they treated my class than others, it felt extremely unfair as if we were the problem. This place wasn't able to provide me a space for me to fully express myself as a dancer. Sad my experience here wasn't as great like others, I was really disappointed.
I wanted to love this place. However, there was some things that rubbed me the wrong way. So I decided to take my business else where. My daughter is 5 years old. She was in gymnastics and wanted to try ballet. A family member recommended Dance Studio of Fresno. I googled searched and most reviews were 5 stars. Awesome! Let’s give it a try. This was during Covid so the parents were not allowed to go in the building and watch. I would wait in my car the full hour. Right away I noticed when class was over the kids were just dismissed. No teachers waiting with the kids. No one checking to make sure the kids parents were there. Just letting the kids cross the small, packed parking lot by themselves. Mind you my daughter is 5. I was always there but I didn’t like the idea of a child waiting by their little self. Moving on.. so there are recitals. My daughter is very shy and still fairly new compared to the other girls. She wanted more time to get it down and grow. We decided not this year, maybe next. But in the meantime she wanted to continue to dance. The recital is optional. The staff reassured me she can continue to dance and will not feel left out in any way (which was my biggest concern). Now that Covid restrictions are lifted we (parents) can watch. I saw My daughter and the few others that were not attending the recital were definitely left out. The girls that were in the recital wore their fancy dresses, got all the attention and time from the teacher. I could see it in my daughters face she was hurt and wanted to burst out in tears. I took her out immediately. She will not be going there again. I get there’s a recital. I understand the girls got a beautiful dress. But I was told she would not feel left out in any way. If that’s the case they should make the recitals mandatory or have a separate class. Or just simply let the parents know the girls will be wearing dresses and your child may feel left out .. but you can purchase one. This is my experience and my feelings towards Dance Studio of Fresno. Disappointed on so many levels.
My three daughters have danced there starting in 2012. They love it there, and the teachers and dance family have played such an important role in their childhoods.

Where every dancer finds their rhythm in a supportive, family-friendly environment.
