What a wonderful experience. The collection is just stunning and I feel you need more than one visit to really appreciate it all. My tour made more special by the knowledge of the guide Leslie and in fact all staff there on the day. It is a must do to visit this house you will not be disappointed.

My friend and I have been visiting David Roche House every few months for the last few years. We always enjoy the eclectic mix of exhibitions across a range of art forms and topics. The gallery space is perfect, not so big to be overwhelming, yet enough to show and tell about each exhibit. On our last visit this month we learned that they are putting a cafe in the gallery. We are looking forward to trying this new cafe out next year.

We just attended the ‘gallery of art deco a modern vision celebrating 100 years’ with over 180 pieces of art deco treasures. I must see for anyone who is into antiques or and especially Art Deco. What a fantastic gallery which I’m sure has many different exhibits throughout the year worth looking at as it’s regarded as one of the best Australian private galleries .

I visited this gallery on Tuesday 21/10/2025 as a planned excursion with a group of 3 participants. I'm a mental health Support Worker and assist in running weekly programs. This excursion was included in the week's program. To say that this was an enjoyable experience would be an understatement. The tour guide "Jan" who led us through each room was incredibly well versed and clearly very passionate as she spoke about the items within the gallery. In addition, she shared that she had the privilege of knowing David Roche personally & working with him up until his passing in 2013. As such, she was able to share what the items meant to David Roche. The feedback I received from the 3 participants was very positive. They thoroughly appreciated the gallery and the tour. Prior to departure, we had the opportunity to check out the show dog exhibition. This was really enjoyable and uplifting.

A wonderful Adelaide hidden gem! I've visited three times now, several years apart, and taking interstate visitors with me. Each time, I learn something new from the very informative guides who shepherd each small group through and explain details about the amazing and eclectic collections amassed by David Roche across his lifetime - paintings of dogs and horses, portraiture, militaria, porcelain, furniture, bronzes, marble statues, clocks, bespoke carpets, wallpapers and curtains .. it just goes on and on!
