As a follower of the path of SRF/YSS for 25+ years, I and my husband have attended its Centers in various parts of US ( and a few around the world during our travels). Centers like this one in Detroit (and all over the world) are a huge blessing both for those who are interested in finding out more about the teachings of SRF as taught by Parmahansa Yogananda and those who have already established a guru-disciple relationship with him through his organization. We have always found the services here to be very uplifting and consitent. The moment we walk into the Chapel, we feel the peace instantly and the right company of fellow sincere devotees here keeps us motivated as we continue to strive for more on our spiriual path. we have been attending this Center for the past 10 years and will continue to do so. Hope this is helpful. jaiguru!

This is a great organization and we a lucky to have it in Detroit. I would like to clarify some things about a review posted by Ms "B" years ago. She made some comments about Haley and me (Nick K). I am sorry about her bad experiences with Haley. I do not doubt most of the things she wrote about Haley. However, please allow me to add a few clarifications: 1. I presented several spiritual workshops with assistance from Beth Decamp, Haley and Karla Johnson(later on). 2. My association with Haley was purely professional and for the charitable cause. 3. It had come to my attention that Haley touched some ladies inappropriately. (I am aware of 3 names). 4. Beth, Karla and Saundra Harris had a private meeting with Haley about this matter. We ended up chastising him and expelled him from our team. Misbehaving with ladies should never be tolerated specially in religious/spiritual settings. 5. It is also true thar he was expelled from Song of the Morning(SOM) retreat. 6. CLARIFICATION: His being allowed back at SOM was a decision made by SOM officials. Ms. B is incorrect by saying that I helped to get him back in. NOT TRUE. I am not and never was an official at SOM. That decision was totally be SOM officials. 7. I will be more than happy to sit down with Ms. B and clarify the matter. If she would like to sit with SRF Detroit officials+ I....I will be available. 8. Mr. Haley passed away on 29th Jan 2025. Let us all pray and forgive him and move on. 9. Once again...I am sorry for Ms B's bad experiences. Detroit SRF Center is a blessing to us all. The members are very high quality, moral, kind and loving. I am proud of all of them. Thank you. 🙏❤️

Have been going to the Detroit Center for about 10 years and have had the most pleasant and peaceful experiences. The people are very friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for a place for meditation and to learn the deeper aspects of yoga this is a good place for you. Also, this group has roots that go back since the time of the founder, Paramahansa Yogananda in the early 1920’s. If you haven’t read the Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda it is a beautiful read of devotion and yoga.
