I cannot recommend Dog Gone Amazing enough! We have two Siberian huskies. They are known to be stubborn but sweet and hard to train. Dog Gone Amazing turned our dogs into the perfect little ladies. We can take them off leash, we can take them to the farmers market we can take them to dog parks and have confidence in their training. The boarding as well is too notch. We take long trips and know the girls are loved and cared for. We have been to many training and boarding facilities in both CA (northern and southern) and many in Reno and Dog Gone Amazing wins hands down. I must mention the staff too! Makaila knows how to hire! Betz, Heather, Dustin, Bailey, Kay, and Gillian are like family to our girls! Can’t give them all high enough reviews.

The training and boarding at Dog Gone Amazing is outstanding. The staff is very responsive, timely, and truly cares for you dog. I had the pleasure of working with Betz in their Turn Key program and I was impressed! Evie is a sweet little pup, but also very stubborn and she took to the training immediately, and with practice at home on a regular basis, we made great progress! The counter surfing has ended, and she is getting much better with her manners as well as off leash recall. I also recently boarded Evie, and let me tell you- that was incredible. She went out 2x for hour long hikes, and I added on some boosters to reinforce her Turn Key training, she had a blast, and was exhausted when I picked her up. The staff is wonderful about checking in and sending photos both when training and boarding. I would and have recommended Dog Gone Amazing for training and boarding needs.

We started working with Malaika at Dog Gone when our puppy Lila was about 6 months old. From the beginning, Malaika was very informative, patient and assertive. She was very respectful of how we wanted Lila to be trained or what our needs were to get Lila were we wanted her to be. We reviewed long term goals and she came up with great techniques to help us get there! Lila was a very hyper puppy that had the bad habits of any wild 6 month old. Terrible recall, stubborn, jumping and scratching our guests, including their tiny humans! We are very experienced dog owners, but we were at a loss with her. She was the first dog we've ever had that was a "wild child" in a sense. Malaika helped us feel confident in adjusting how we trained her. Understanding her breed and what works for her specifically did wonders! I've never been for the e-collar training, but Malaika was empathetic to me and gave me the confidence on how to properly use the e-collar as a training tool. She assured me it doesn't cause pain, but only acts as an extender of my voice. My baby girl is becoming the best version of herself. At 10 months old, she has learned not to jump, has great recall, has been so gentle and sweet with all of the tiny humans she has come into contact with. She has so much to learn still, but we are so proud of how far she has come and we couldn't have done it without the team at Dog Gone. If you are looking for someone that is experienced, gentle, caring and will look after your babies the way you will, call Malaika! She will help you and your dog get to where you want them to be! We are so thankful for them!

I don't think I could be happier with the training we received. I HIGHLY recommend DGA! I have two very large male Labrador Retriever litter mates who were very hard to control and often fought with each other. The largest of the boys had terrible anxiety and would literally lunge at anything moving (skateboards, joggers, cars, bikes, in addition to fence fighting) making it very dangerous for all of us while on walks. I had hip and back issues that required surgery when they were a couple of years old which made walking them on a leash nearly impossible. I was looking for a trainer when a friend of mine enrolled her rescue in both the Turnkey and Board and Train. She was a 2 yr old stray that had never interacted with humans and within a couple of weeks she was basically walking off leash in the mountains with us. I was hoping for the same success and can positively say DGA surpassed all my expectations from the first Evaluation meeting to the last day of training. I worked with Malaika for 3 months doing Turnkey, and from minute one, the dogs knew she was in charge. She is very professional, attentive, and caring. If she had a session without me I always received pics and video's of their progress. Both dogs now walk wonderfully on leash without pulling or fence fighting. They mind immediately off leash while in the mountains on hikes. I can take them places without fear of embarrassment or fear that they will run away and hurt themselves or another animal. They are also respectful of our visitors and their space which is a godsent. The one with anxiety now has sooo much more confidence. He is no longer reactive to situations with other animals or people and does not try to lunge or bite. Malaika, you worked some amazing magic and I will be forever grateful!

We adopted two reactive rescue dogs and needed help training them. The DGA turn-key program was very effective, but we decided to enroll both dogs in their board-and-train program since we only had a little time before moving out of state. Our dogs came back to us happy, confident, and trained. The follow-up lessons have been tailored to our specific needs. The DGA staff members understand that dogs are like family. They are all so friendly, professional, flexible, and incredibly caring. We wish we had found this place when we adopted our first dog years ago.
