ARTISTS BE WARNED From what I’ve heard, Dot Art charges artists a monthly fee just to sell their artworks. They take advantage of amateur artists who are trying to start out. If you value your work and want to be treated fairly, buy direct from the artist whenever you can.

I’ve had mixed experiences here. First time round we framed a large poster. The framer did not communicate changes of the glass size to us (I requested a floating glass mount), and even thought it looks good the poster is not flat, you can see some warping. The second set of images, one was done really well, the other is a vintage map and it’s been crimped at the edges so you can see the fold. I did email the gallery to find out if they would be willing to look at this but received no response to my complaint. Edit: I received a response a few weeks later - was told owner was away on annual leave. They asked me to bring in the frame which I did at my own cost. A week or so later was informed that the framer had a look and can’t do anything about the faults, with an apology “it’s not what I wanted to hear.” Also the price quoted turned out to be more on collection and I was not told about this over the phone before. I won’t use them again.

Used these guys to frame some prints we had been given. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They were able to use a painting we already had framed as a reference to ensure the new frames matched. They gave an accurate price estimate at the initial discussion (no appointment needed, I just wondered in), and the work (frames for 5 prints) was completed within just two weeks. I chose UV glass, but they do offer the more expensive art glass if you can afford it, or plain glass if wanting to save money and light not an issue. The frames are done to an exceptionally high quality, and look fantastic. Would recommend for any framing needs.
