UPDATE: After seeing my review, Double G reached out. They offered to comp some additional work in exchange for an updated review. I accepted. The additional work they did was very satisfactory. Both houses they painted look good and I have seen an uptick in potential tenant outreach after the updated photos went live. _______________________________________________________________ The work was solid, but I left this project frustrated. The carpentry section listed $90/hour labor and a 30% markup on materials — which I understood. What I didn’t realize is that none of the estimated carpentry cost was included in the total at the bottom of the quote. That line item ended up costing me over $5,000 and pushed the project 30% over my expected budget. I assumed the total included everything, especially since the estimate even gave a labor range... it didn’t. If you hire them, read every detail and don’t assume the bottom-line total includes all the work described. A clearer quote would’ve saved me a lot of frustration.

We had Double G paint our nearly 100-year-old house. First, we needed some carpentry work done. David came and did an excellent job repairing a rotted out door threshold and replacing some shingles. Carlos and Francisco did the painting, and they too did an excellent job. They did a lot of prep work on our windows and doors and then did a meticulous job of painting. They were always cheerful, seemed to enjoy the work and were easy to work with if we had concerns. We are very pleased with the results!

The pandemic has unquestionably caused a shift in how we live our lives. My gym of 13 years closed temporarily during the initial days of the pandemic, and then ultimately shuttered its doors for good. I decided to install a home gym in our garage, but in order to do so we needed some work done in our garage to address some efflorescence, crumbling cement, stained and cracked flooring, painting our new garage door, and also decided to get our Andersen French Doors painted. After several quotes, I felt most comfortable hiring Double G Painting & General Contracting to perform all of the work, and I'm glad I did. They were highly professional, extremely efficient, and did high quality work. The workers really cared about their work being perfect. Our garage turned out great, and our once faded French Doors look brand new! I would highly recommend Double G Painting & General Contracting to everyone. You really do get what you pay for!!! I couldn't be more pleased with Double G Painting and General Contracting. John and Jack were easy to communicate and work with to get the exact results I wanted on my house. I had my 1938 craftsman house transformed with stucco repair, paint, and new gutters. Double G Painting and Contracting was not the lowest estimate I received, but I noticed and appreciated the attention to detail John showed during the estimate. My house has the original wood frame windows which all function, and John was the first to even ask about the functionality of my windows. The estimate provided was upfront and all inclusive for the entire project. Jack, the project manager, was amazing from start to finish. My property was pressure washed and prepped before they began the exterior project. Jack was beyond patient during the process of choosing the colors I wanted, and he listened to every concern I had along the way. They refaced my entire front wall because the stucco was in such bad condition. Nearing completion of the project a roof came to repair a small part of my roof on my porch. During the repair he covered part of my newly painted house with a white elastomeric coating. I had a complete meltdown and contacted John and Jack. Even though the project was nearly finished, John reassured me that his team would come back out and make it right for me. The team cleaned up beautifully after completing the project. I couldn't be happier and cannot speak highly enough about Double G Painting and Contracting. I highly recommend John and his team for any project you may have at your home.
