Very good sushi place but at back bay prices. Started with the very tasty tuna tataki. Then ordered 2 rolls both very good, the salmon jalapeño and sweet miso yellowtail

Absolutely fantastic! Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and very tasty. If you ever visit Duozo Sushi, you HAVE to try the XO Toro. I cannot put into words how delicious it was, it’s an experience in and of itself!

Wonderful Japanese restaurant steps from the Orange Line Back Bay subway stop. Close to many other shops on the walk to Tremont Street. The restaurant offers a wide choice of Japanese fare. The atmosphere is bright, cheerful, and quiet. I enjoyed the lunch Bento box of teriyaki salmon, my choice of spicy tuna roll, and salad. The salmon was perfectly prepared and delicious. The tuna roll was fresh and tasty with the accompanying wasabi and ginger. The meal, with my choice of green tea, was a perfect choice for me and I truly enjoyed the experience.

Ask for Adan as your server!!!!! He was fantastic and so helpful with the menu. My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary here, and we were very pleased with the food. Only complaint would be the beef in the yaki beef entree was more fatty than he liked. We would definitely go back and try other dishes. The phoenix roll was our top favorite right behind the sweet miso yellow tail roll. The fun drink pictured is express indigo starry night so good!!! Adan knows his stuff so he won’t steer you wrong, his personality was so friendly and caring, truly enjoyed him!

We spent our early Mother’s Day dinner at Douzo Sushi in Boston, a place we’ve returned to many times over the past 10 years. And once again, it did not disappoint. The food is consistently excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. This time, we ordered the sample boat, which is a perfect way to enjoy a wide variety of sushi and sashimi in one sitting. Every piece was crafted with care, from the rich toro to the delicate salmon rolls, and the plating was as stunning as ever. The atmosphere at Douzo is both elegant and relaxing. Though the staff has changed over the years, the service remains warm and welcoming. You can always feel the genuine hospitality, which enhances the dining experience. We’ve especially enjoyed their creative specialty rolls in the past, but the sample boat really stood out this time. It’s a great choice for anyone looking to explore a range of offerings. If I were to suggest one small area for improvement, it would be to reflect a bit more of the restaurant’s cultural roots in the service team. Years ago, a Taiwanese waiter gave us fantastic recommendations and left a lasting impression. Having more staff with Asian heritage might further enhance the authentic feel of this Japanese dining experience. A bonus worth mentioning: they validate parking for the garage next to the restaurant—definitely a plus in downtown Boston. Overall, Douzo remains one of our favorite spots in the city. I’d highly recommend it to any sushi lover looking for quality, consistency, and a touch of sophistication.
