I brought them a painting of a ship that had been in our family homes in Scotland but never looked after. It was covered in dirt generally peat smoke and tobacco and torn. The painting was beautifully restored and the tear was repaired. The vertical picture is before and the horizontal one is after, what a fantastic change. Thank you.

Went in for an appraisal 9/20/2025 and was very pleased with the info I got, definitely recommend to anyone looking for an appraisal or looking for fine art.

Drove 70 MI to get an appraisal and possibly make a sale. The man was very rude. Told me that a painting that was signed with only the last name was not common and the painting was no good because of that. Well he's wrong it's quite common to sign one was only a last name. Never did really look at my painting. Said every negative thing he could about it. I am handicapped and crippled from my injuries. I live on a fixed income. Financially I'm going under and possibly will be living on the streets within a few months. It hits me hard when I have to spend money on gasoline to drive up to fort Worth and get nothing accomplished but treated very badly. I was referred to this establishment by a very prominent notable person. I am as friendly as a box of puppies and treat others with all due respect.

This is the ONLY place to go for any repairs or restoration work for your paintings. Greg does outstanding work. He gives your art the TLC you want it to get . I would not think of going anywhere else. Paul in Fort Worth

I inherited an oil painting from my mother from a not so well-known but very accomplished and published artist. My father smoked 2 packs of cigarettes a day. I took the painting in to re-frame and to have it cleaned. Mr Dow talked me into restoring the original frame instead of replacing it. Turns out to be a frame of the highest quality and very much worth keeping, especially because it was original to the painting. They also cleaned the painting itself from they layers of nicotine and dirt that had made it as a thin layer on its face. The depth of color revealed is sublime, and the layered brushstrokes now stand out to give dimension to the weeds and grass. More blue has revealed itself within the taupes of the landscape and the white of the thunderclouds more sharply silhouette an angry sky. I will enjoy many hours as this painting keeps me company with the memories of my youth, and I will experience the dark excitement of a coming thunderstorm as if it were my first one every time I look at it. Thank you Dow galleries.
