I was looking to do adult contemporary classes but had a hard time finding them until I came across Dragonfly on Google. I had no dance experience other than the occassional floorwork in my aerial silks classes. I did the trial pass and enjoyed the classes so much. Teachers are very understanding and kind, plus I like that there are opportunities to perform too in the Student Showcase. Always have fun when I am here!

This is the perfect place to start your adult dance journey. The team is incredibly supportive and the classes are the perfect level of challenge. I had no dance experience before coming here and I feel as if I have been able to grow as a dancer and find a safe and supportive community. If there is any part of you that is interested in starting dance you should absolutely go for it! Dragonfly Dance Studio is the perfect best place for you to start!

Ive always danced but thought that was over now as most schools classified adult as 16+, i was so gratified to dragonfly dance were i can dance with my contemporaries. Now at 57 Ive just started ballet, and it really helps with my technique in jazz and contemporary as well as improving agility to assist in tap. The staff are all very friendly, helpful, professional and knowledgeable, you can see there training and experience in the way they move and their joy in passing this on to their students. Its nice to laugh and learn at the same time. I also love being given a chance to perform but this is completely optional.

I am so glad I found Dragonfly Dance. I have had a 30 year break from dancing and was wanting to regain my technique. The teachers are very experienced in teaching correct technique and are mindful of age, level of experience and suggest strategies for old injuries. The students are inclusive and welcoming. The space is of professional standard with sprung floors. I highly recommend Dragonfly Dance for your dance experience.

I started ballet again after 35ish years break, beginning with the online Introduction to Ballet course that Jo McDonald ran from October to December 2020. I had only done very basic ballet as an 8-12yo, but enjoyed it a lot, and always wanted more from my classes back then. Joining the studio properly in 2021 was even better than the very fun term of Zoom. I started with one class, then 2, 3, and currently aim for 5-6 a week. I was thrilled to start prepointe class with Millie in 2022, and get my first pair of pointe shoes around Easter 2022. Such an occasion! I adore pointe classes with Reggie, and technique/barre classes with Jo and Reggie, and repertoire classes with Tracee, when time and work commitments allow. The teachers all bring something different, and all are fabulous. The photo below shows a brilliant pair of socks (with my beautiful cats Fluff and Moodle printed on them). I got these socks for my 50th birthday, and couldn’t think of a better way to show them off!
