Kinda disappointed with my experience here. I came in hoping to get some understanding of different cameras and explained what I was looking for, even though I don’t know much about the hobby yet. I said I wanted something like a Pentax K1000 with manual functions to learn on. I explained this clearly, but the staff recommended and sold me a point-and-shoot camera instead. At the time, I trusted their advice and didn’t realize how different it was from what I asked for. When I later understood that the camera wasn’t at all what I wanted, I called the shop and was told there are no returns unless there’s a mechanical issue. I get that in normal situations, but in this case I feel mislead. I feel especially let down given the price of these cameras. This wasn’t a small purchase, and I relied on the staff’s guidance as a beginner, and it’s left me pretty discouraged.
I had a great experience browsing and ultimately purchasing a lens for my F2. These guys took their time to ensure the lens would work with my setup. Support local businesses! Especially those keeping our art alive.
If you have a great love of photography and you’re ever in Los Angeles… You have to check out “Eagle Rock Camera and Goods!!” I had heard great things about the store, I went in today looking for a photo coffee table book to give as a gift. Not only did I find an amazing book I found a couple of others for myself and so much more! Such a cool vibe in the store and the people that own it went way out of their way to give not only myself but the others in the shop a great experience. I’ll definitely be going back whether it’s for a used 35 mm camera, I need film or a number of other things! Again if you love photography this is a must see shop!
So stoked these guys (Raymond & Jason) opened a shop in Eagle Rock! As a skateboarder and film photography enthusiast, it’s almost a no-brainer that these guys are getting my support. Goodbye to the days of buying film on Amazon! The shop is clean and has just about everything a photographer may need. Raymond was super nice and helpful! Looking forward to my next visit!
Really digging this small boutique camera shop in Eagle Rock. It’s got nice curated collection of camera on consignment as well as other vintage finds. (They’re very particular about what they allow to be sold there too making it easy to purchase quality gear without fear of any issues) Plus lots of newer accessories, branded merch and a great selection of photo books. It’s a spacious minimalist spot with room to sit and chill browsing the books or chatting with local photo enthusiasts. They of course sell film as well though it’s mostly pared down to the very popular stuff so you won’t find anything too experimental or new (though I wish they at least carried some Arista.edu or JCH, and I hope to find a shop one day that actually carries Reflx). But all things Kodak is available as well as some Polaroid, Cinestill and P30 Ferrania. They have coffee too but I’ve never seen any available when I’m in. Would be cool to just chill in there with coffee but it’s not a coffee shop so I can go do that somewhere else after I shop of course! They plan on building out a film lab in the back as well which would be the cherry on top! Making it easier to stop by more frequently.
