I recently had the pleasure of sailing with Edinburgh Boat Charters, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The boat itself was beautifully maintained clean, modern, and clearly cared for with attention to detail. The sailing was smooth and comfortable, and it was clear that safety and professionalism were top priorities throughout the trip. What stood out most, however, was the skipper’s knowledge and passion. They shared fascinating insights about the local coastline, landmarks, and wildlife, which added so much depth to the journey. Being out on the water offered a truly unique perspective of Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth. From spotting seals and seabirds to sailing under the iconic Forth bridges, the views were unforgettable. It struck the perfect balance between relaxation and adventure ideal whether you’re new to sailing or more experienced. Overall, Edinburgh Boat Charters delivered an exceptional experience that combined professional service, local expertise, and the pure joy of being under sail. I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for a memorable way to see Scotland from a different angle.

Excellent experience sailing with Colin aboard Edinburgh Castle. Experienced steering the sailboat, elusive seals and a dolphin. Recommended! A+++++

This was gifted to me as a birthday present and I was not disappointed. Greeted with tea/coffee and a warm welcome. Amazing opportunity to see the bridges like never before. Fantastic chance to steer the boat and I was very impressed with how long each person, if they wish, got to have a go at it. There was even enough time to have a second go. Would highly recommend this experience to everyone.

What an amazing sail we had around the three bridges today. The whole experience with Edinburgh Boat Charters has been perfect from start to finish. Thanks for making my Dad’s day in getting to take the wheel. Brilliant!

We were gifted this trip for our birthdays, and were delighted. In the run-up, Ellie was very helpful with scheduling, and even provided a upgrade as our gifted sail was no longer available. On the day itself, the sail was so much fun. Colin and Ellie looked after us very well, the views were stunning, and we loved trying out steering for ourselves. Even with others we didn't know on board, the atmosphere was very friendly. One tiny criticism - a second offer of tea/coffee halfway through would have been very welcome, as even in July it was pretty cold and blustery out on the water. That was a very minor flaw in an otherwise wonderful trip. Well worth five stars!
