We definitely didn’t not feel welcomed when we came in by the person hosting the experience. The room itself was fine but some of the components and props in the room looked like they had never been replaced, which is a bit disappointing so maybe something to look at fixing and refreshing. The room was challenging and we enjoyed it for the most part, but as a professional Magician, I definitely feel like you could’ve done lots more with magical concepts and props. When we asked for help in the second half we did not get a response for a good 5 or so mins after radioing multiple times. The responses were fairly generic and came across a bit patronizing. After the room, we had a similar experience with the host. Pretty lame, low effort interactions and not really much care for our experience. Respectfully, they seemed high as a kite. We probably won’t be coming back even though we love escape rooms.

We did the Fractured Room as a group of 2 but would be great for a bigger group. Worst thing about this room is that we can't do it again! We have completed about 20 escape rooms collectively in Melbourne and surrounds so can definitively say this room is the absolute best!! The puzzels were clever, unique and fun. The design and way puzzles fit together was genius. Everything in the room worked and our game master was very clever in the use of hints. Everything you need to know in terms of caution in choosing this room is in the published description in terms of it being an "Inside Out" like experience inside the mind of someone on life support so sensitivity around this would be the only caution without spoiling anything. My best advice if you're not sure it to call ERM staff and ask. My only warning is for the Kellar room. Its listed as a psychological thriller and "creepy" but its much worse. We only did this room because we were told by ERM that it wasn't a horror room and to be honest it ruined escape rooms for us for a long time after because that wasn't the case. There is a point in the game where the mood changes and honestly the puzzles in this room were so good that if you didnt like scary rooms you could play to that point and stop and still feel you got your moneys worth. If you like scary rooms make sure you tell the game master as they can adjust to make it more scary but it just wasnt for us.

Really recommend this escape room in South Melbourne. We did Fractured which had an interesting story where you need to connect memories of people to important moments in their life. The challenges are quite tricky (so probably best if you have some escape rooms experience already) and so it was very rewarding when you solved them. The puzzles are a great mix of physical dexterity and mental problem solving. Our team got out in time but it was a great challenge!

Absolutely recommend ERM, if you’re an escape room enthusiast in Melbourne, you must give it a go! We have done all 4 rooms across Flemington and South Melbourne and loved the attention to detail, intriguing storylines, excellent ambience and the stimulating (and logical) puzzles. Simon was an excellent guide and intuitively knew how to ensure we got the most out of every experience. Not one room was a let down, and Fractured was particularly good. We were a group of 2, but this experience would be excellent to share with a larger group as well.

Please don't waste your money. This is so expensive for what you get. Loads of other fun activities that you will find more satisfying. The room was old, tired, held together with sticky tape, and not very exciting. For $50 per person - I was shocked by how little value you got.
