The room was dirty and insanely hot. We also got the code and the last lock was broken and would not open, the worker even tried the same code and could not explain why it wouldn’t work. So crappy equipment is why we lost. Could also get no refund. Stay so far away from this place, it’s trash.
We decided to go to Bingemens for their escape room, which we did Emergency Exit. We are from London and have done all but two rooms in our entire city, and we have done rooms in Hamilton (two escape places there). We know escape rooms. We do not claim to be experts, and we don't always escape, but we take our failures because it helps us escape others in the future and we enjoy the challenge of a well built escape room. This was the worst experience we have ever had. Not only do you guys take time away for hints (nowhere else does that anymore since we're there for fun and escape rooms are costly), but we were told that nothing should need more than two fingers of force to open it. We ended up using a hint for the second letter lock, and we got the word, which was the word we had already been trying for fifteen minutes, and it would not open. We had also lost 5 minutes of our time for that hint, which we already were doing. So my partner decided to YANKKKK the lock hard and it opened... we lost all that time because of a lock that NEEDS to be replaced. Then the screw heads were super stripped, and it was hard to keep the screwdriver attached to get the screws off. Finally we got to the second room. The flashlight was very dim and did little to illuminate the dark room, eraser was ripped in half, and the combination box with they key inside needs to be mounted on a wall, it is not something that should be held; and it too was not opening easily and we had to use force. We ended up leaving because none of the clues have any connection, and honestly, it is the worst room we have done. Then, when we told the kid at the counter, it just did not seem like he believed us... we are three grown adults. We have zero reasons to lie to you guys. He did offer to add time to the clock to finish, but the experience had already been ruined. What makes it completely and utterly worse... Today (June 23, 2024) is my birthday, and it really just ruined it because I wasted 100+ dollars to be ripped off by a room that needs to be updated.
The rooms were small and dirty. Locks did not work properly and needed to be replaced. Half the puzzles were removed from the rooms because they were broken. The rooms were not prepared properly as some puzzles were missing from the room and some things were left unlocked. The supervisor gave us an extra free room due to how poorly set up the first room was done. Both rooms despite advertising a below 20 percent success rate were completed in under 30 min. With both rooms taking an extra 10 minutes due to locks being sticky and not unlocking with the right code. The price point at 30$ a head is already a premium compared to other rooms but offers no challenge and missing puzzles. Even the ones that are in the room don't work as intended. The puzzles that did work were very basic and you could guess the answers with out many of the clues.
Worst escape room I've ever been to. Theming was good, but couldn't make up for the problems. The room was not set up properly, a box was left unlocked so we didn't have to solve anything to open it. One lock was so broken, we spent 10 minutes on it with the correct code, but it wouldn't open. Had to use a hint to get the attendant to come in and help. The goal of the room we did was to find and open a treasure chest, then escape. There was no treasure chest in the room! The supervisor said that they took that out of the game so it wasn't considered a problem! We spent a lot of time reaching into a dirty hole looking for clues where apparently the treasure used to be. They would not refund us but let us try another room. Another lock that was not working well, and poor quality, poorly maintained puzzles. We escaped the room in 30 minutes, it was unsatisfying. Things were filthy in both rooms.
We did emergency exit. It was very dark. The employee let us bring in our own flashlight and cell phone. We didn’t like the darkness and he came and turned on the light. One of the puzzles was broken. He added 10 extra minutes to our time. First clue is free and 5 minutes is deducted after that. The second room is dark and you need a flashlight but it didn’t work. You need a flashlight for this room. The last puzzle is a directional lock. We could not figure out how that works. The employees here are very nice.
