When we moved in to our new house in July this year we thought that we had a few more years out of our roof, unfortunately for us it turned in to an immediate job. Paul from Essence came out to survey and quote (one of the few company’s that actually did after contacting many) and he was an immediate hit with his professional manner, knowledge, friendliness and honesty. The job was started exactly when they said it would and the team that we got doing our roof was amazing. Daily updates of what they had done, always tidied up, told us of any problems that they uncovered during the reroof - immediately followed by what they did to remedy them and always with a smile. Storm Amy hit in the middle of the job and due to the expertise of the team nothing moved on the roof, my heavy gas bbq got blown all over the garden, but not one thing moved on the roof. We really felt that the roof was done in the way that they would want they’re own roof done, totally went that extra mile to make sure it was done properly, Even our neighbours commented on how professionally the job was done. Have already recommended them to friends and a woman in the hairdressers who had been let down by other roofers. My house now looks amazing thanks to Essence.

Fantastic job start to finish. We had a full very complicated roof installed. This consisted off 2 pitched roofs, a flat roof and a lantern sky light. All of this is really complex but they did a fantastic job. The roof came through the recent storms unscathed and is really great. The are very responsive and dealt with snagging quickly. I would highly recommend!

It took me some time to find a local roofing company as I wanted to be sure that I chose the right firm, for various reasons. I had quotes from various Glasgow roofing companies and took my time to choose one as it’s an important and costly thing to get right. The original slates on the house I bought 3 years ago, a semi-detached sandstone house (built circa 1890), had seen better days and were missing / broken in places and causing various leaks internally. Paul from Essence came out to quote and was very polite, knowledgeable and friendly - a no hard sell approach. Essence’s quote was very competitive and they managed to fit me in without having to wait too long. They reslated my entire roof, rerendered my chimneys, replaced the panes of glass on an original skylight window and were very tidy, courteous and respectful of my property. Despite having had the work done back in March-April 2023, I wanted to wait at least a full year before writing and leaving an honest review. Basically, it survived the long, harsh winter months without any issues at all. I’m absolutely delighted with the result and I’m so glad I got Essence to undertake the work. I spent a couple of months investigating roofing companies to completely re roof me and my neighbours roof as we are semi detached, I settled on Essence Roofing and I'm glad that I did. From the initial enquiry to the final interim payment I have nothing but praise for the company. Elizabeth, the office manager was always available to answer any questions, always phoning me back when she said that she would. I didn't realise it at the start but this was a big job and for the vast majority of the time it was carried out by two men Graham and Laurie who were fantastic. The weather for most of the time was horrendous, rain, wind and on one day snow but they carried on regardless. We expected the whole process to be stressful with the inevitable upheaval such a large project would bring but thanks to Graham and Laurie always being happy to accommodate our requests and putting up with my countless questions they made the experience practically stress free and I cannot praise them enough, they are two thoroughly nice blokes. I will have no hesitation in recommending, and using Essence again if and when the need arises in the future. And the roof looks great.
