I absolutely could not recommend Etsu enough! My partner booked a meal for my birthday and everything that we ordered was exceptional, especially the sea bass and spider roll. The staff were helpful and so friendly, and even added an extra birthday surprise! The food is so delicious and authentic and we can’t wait to visit again. This will definitely become a new favourite place for us.

If you are craving for amazing, authentic Japanese food in Liverpool, this would be THE place to go. Been here numerous times and they never disappoint. Sushi, sashimi and hand rolls are a must (for me), always freshly made and enjoyable.

Nice relaxing Japanese restaurant in Liverpool. One of the more Authentic Japanese restaurant with great variety of sushi and drinks. Just a little more on the pricey side but if money is not an issue then this will be the place to go for sushi in Liverpool.

Etsu is always and I mean always, brilliant. I often go by myself and feel very content to special occasions and it fits the brief perfectly. The food is sublime, beautifully prepared and delicious every single time. Staff are lovely and you’re looked after without being imposed upon. Very lucky to have this wonderful restaurant close by.

Etsu is one of Liverpool’s better Japanese restaurants and a solid choice for dinner before heading to the waterfront. The entrance is charming, with a small garden leading up to the door. Inside, the decor is simple, clean, and understated, and food comes out quickly. • Kishu Monogatari Umeshu: golden, fragrant, served with a whole plum, a lovely start. • Ebi Tempura: light batter, crisp and not greasy, with springy prawns. Much better than expected. • Tori Gyoza: pan fried golden, with just the right crispness and flavor. • Sushi Mix Set: 16 pieces, fresh and filling, with a good balance of nigiri and rolls. • Spider Roll: crispy soft shell crab with spicy mayo, tasty, but only four pieces, which felt a bit small. • Chicken Katsu Don: crunchy outside, tender chicken inside. Egg was slightly overcooked, but still comforting and family friendly. Prices are a little on the high side, but the food is traditional, well prepared, and consistently good.
