Little surprised to see negative reviews; I’ve used EZ Alterations on 4 different occasions ranging from suits to uniforms and have been satisfied and impressed each time. Individually owned and run, she works out of her home making all the alterations herself and communicates via text. Not as quick or cheap as your Jos. A. Bank tailor, but a true professional who works with care and takes the alterations seriously. I’ll gladly pay a premium for an expert craftswoman.
Had to find a new tailor since I moved too far from my old one, and I had a great experience! She was very attentive and sweet! She did mention that she can get busy so if you need something tailored by a certain deadline, I would recommend going in sooner rather than later. To hem a few shirts, it took about a week and a half, which is a relatively quick turnaround. Would definitely go back!
Yesterday, I went to this tailor shop hoping to get alterations on a suit I had purchased from a plus-size clothing store. From the moment I walked in, I immediately sensed judgment and discomfort. When I asked about getting my suit altered, the tailor questioned me curtly about where the suit was. I had left it in the car since I didn’t know if she had other clients, so I stepped outside to grab it. When I came back, her tone was cold and unwelcoming. She directed me to hang the suit up “coat first,” and when I asked for clarification, she became dismissive and condescending. She asked if it was my first alteration, and when I explained that my former tailor had retired, she brushed me off, saying, “There’s nothing I can do,” without even properly assessing the suit. Throughout the entire encounter, her demeanor carried clear undertones of bias and discomfort toward me — a Black, masculine-presenting woman — and it showed in the way she spoke and moved. What stood out most was that her daughter was present in the room, witnessing her mother model this behavior. I stayed calm and respectful out of regard for that child, but it was painfully clear that this tailor had no intention of treating me with dignity or earning my business. As paying customers, we deserve respect, not judgment. Racism and microaggressions — whether overt or subtle — have no place in professional service. It’s disheartening that a minority woman herself would perpetuate that energy instead of breaking that cycle. I truly wish her peace, but I will never return to this establishment. Thankfully, I have since found a wonderful tailor who treats me with respect and appreciates my business — something this shop failed to do.
This lady is EXTREMELY rude. I brought a couple of items in and asked her what the price would be. After giving me a random, very high price, I asked her nicely if that’s the best price she can give me for all 3 items. She immediately got upset and yelled that if I’m not happy, to go somewhere else. I again explained to her that I was just asking a simple question very nicely. To which she responded that she doesn’t want my business anymore and to go somewhere else. I calmly said ma’am I was just asking you a question about the pricing. I would still like for you to do the alterations for me. She said no she changed her mind and wants me to leave. I’ve never in my life experienced such unwarranted rudeness. I was literally flabbergasted and felt like I was dreaming this whole interaction. I ended up taking my items to another location 2 mins away from this lady and they charged me half the price of what ez alterations was attempting to charge. Although I’m frustrated by this interaction, I came out of this a winner as I’m getting my items sooner and for a fraction of the price. Stay away from this business. This lady has mental and/or anger issues and clearly doesn’t need anybody’s business. There’s plenty of locations for alterations, do yourself a favor and stay away from this location.
Do not come here she charged me 30 dollars to do measurements when i asked her can we at least do 25 dollars she took the paper n told me go somewhere else i paid the 30 dollors once i left i called another alteration they say thats for free !
