We chose to work with EZ Plans to create our architectural design for an upcoming remodel. We did run into some bumps with regard to their office being Los Angeles based and our home being in San Diego which has different codes and regulations. Also doing this long distance created some communication gaps with regard to the design creation. Overall, we love the design though and landed on the right aesthetic. Our favorite part of working with the firm was when it came time to interview contractors and the assistance we received from Cindy who met with them with us, reviewed their submissions, gave us advice and helped us a lot.

EZ Plans was exceptional from start to finish. They supported us through the creation of construction documents for a 900 sq. ft. home expansion and a 900 sq. ft. ADU. Pilar, our assigned architect, delivered a design that far exceeded our original vision and truly elevated the overall project. Throughout the entire process, the EZ Plans team was knowledgeable, professional, responsive, and easy to work with. Their guidance and attention to detail made what could have been a complex process feel smooth and manageable. We highly recommend EZ Plans and would confidently give them a 10 out of 10 to any friends or family considering a similar project.

Ez Plans did not disappoint! Everything went smooth from start to finish, with permit issued in a very reasonable time frame. Mark, Pilar and Cindy were fantastic to work with and very clear about every step. Pilar took our ideas and implemented them wonderfully. (She was very patient and helpful when we were undecided on a roof line.) We are now under construction and can't wait for the final product. Would highly recommend.

1/19/26: I started working with EZ Plans years ago. The Gentelman Glen, i worked with is no longer there. It ended up that what I thought we could do, I could not afford at that time. So, I started all over with them in Nov. 2025; and had to pay a NEW Retainer fee of $3000.00. I had to pay up-front $295.00 for photos of my house. In fact Ray (Owner) is not there and Leslie (his wife) is going part-time. My experience this time around has been horrible. I want to sit side by side with my designer, Pilar (who is NOT a licensed Architect) but I was told by the new guy Mark Lefitz, VP Business Development; (also not an Architect) today that "As previously communicated with you, we do not allow clients to shadow our staff during CAD design." . Really? No one told me that I cannot sit by my designer and design together what I want...I looked thru written contract and it is not there. So that's; that. We are still in the "Design Phase", and have not come up with a single plan that suits my situation and that I have approved. They have spent my $3000.00, already? . And I don't have a real plan? Pilar goes ahead with her ideas and had never met me or stepped foot on my property and I am getting charged for that? I don't think so. I do not think she knows what she is doing. For example: Why wouldn't you put a kitchen nearer to the bath where water and drainage are? Why wouldn't you plan a W/D closer to the back wall so you can vent it out, to the outdoors.? These are simple things she should know but did not; and yet if I say anything I will be charged $ 195.00/hr more now. It's appalling. It has been confusing from the start. And very Frustrating. Do not hire this company. Run. I want all my money back., Do not deny knowing me. I have all the proof...

I hired EZ Plans to help me get my building permits, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. They were extremely professional, responsive, and always on top of things — especially when dealing with the city, which can be a headache. Pilar, my main point of contact, was amazing to work with. She was always helpful, patient, and I truly felt like she had my back throughout the whole process. They never left me hanging and always kept me updated. In my opinion, they went above and beyond what I expected. I’d definitely work with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a solid, reliable architectural firm.
