Only yesterday evening I discovered Fawkes Café, a new gem reminiscent of 1912 on Whyte, which has quickly captured my heart. The cafe's spacious, heritage building hosts a welcoming, diverse crowd, creating a vibrant atmosphere that resonates deeply with me. I shared a memorable encounter with Ken and Troy, two friendly souls connected to the Mars and Venus store on Whyte, who bonded with me over metal music and local stories. Troy’s long friendship with Ken, dating back to their teenage years, impressed me, as did the café’s inclusive vibe The bathroom left a lasting impression, a unique detail that echoes the building’s rich history—one you’re eager to learn more about despite the cold weather that kept me from reading the placard outside. I plan to visit Mars and Venus soon to pick up some incense, continuing your connection to this vibrant community. 1912 will be visited too and v happy to Have Fawkes downtown #YEG given Remedy closed!! The heritage building that houses Fawkes Café is indeed the historic Great West Saddlery Building on 104 Street in Edmonton. This heritage structure adds to the café’s unique charm and atmosphere, complementing the dark academia aesthetic and old-world vibe that the owners, Jorel and Mikayla Pepin, have cultivated since opening in November 2024. The vintage taps in the bathroom are a lovely detail that reflects the building’s character and history
Really cute bakery / cafe in Downtown Edmonton. We love that they put their excess baked goods on Too Good to Go, every time we pick up a box we also order coffees and everything has been excellent each time.
Such a lovely café! The atmosphere is incredibly cute and cozy, with charming décor that makes it the perfect place to relax, catch up with friends, or enjoy some quiet time. The space feels welcoming and thoughtfully designed, and you can tell a lot of care went into creating the vibe. The food was good as well!! Lots of options.
Love this coffee shop — one of my absolute favorites! The coffee is amazing, and they even have delicious gluten-free cookies. I also love that it’s pet-friendly in the entrance area, which makes it even better. Highly recommend!
Pretty nice café, I really liked the vibe and decor, all set into the roaring 20s. The coffee was really good, they have couple roasts to choose from, even decaf and furthermore a wide range of cakes, most of them vegan, gluten free etc. From an European POV, one of the nicer cafés we've visited in Canada. Super friendly staff as well
