The Farmers Market at the Ferry Building is My favorite way to spend a Saturday morning in San Francisco! Grab a bite from a local vendor and sit in front of the Bay bridge and enjoy! But beware of the birds 🦅 ! They are very friendly and will swoop in and steal your food if you let them! lol But outside of that, this is a peaceful experience . It’s free to all and easy to enjoy even if mobility is an issue. And when you’re done you can take the ferry ⛴️ from this exact location to Sausalito or Tiburon to extend your waterfront experience. 🤩
Ferry Plaza Farmers Market has quickly become one of my favorite things to do on the weekend since moving to the area. There’s something about starting the day here that just feels right lively, local, and full of great energy. The variety of produce is incredible. Everything looks fresh and beautifully displayed, and I love knowing I’m buying from local farmers. The selection of local meats is also a huge plus, and supporting local vendors is something I really appreciate and enjoy doing here. Beyond produce and meats, there’s such a wide variety of food options. From prepared foods to baked goods, snacks, and meals you can eat right there, it’s easy to turn a visit into a full experience. There are also plenty of great coffee options, which makes it even better for a weekend outing. One of the best parts is that once you’re done exploring the farmers market, you can walk right into the Ferry Building itself. That opens up even more food and coffee spots, along with small gift shops and specialty stores that are fun to browse. The whole experience feels relaxed but vibrant at the same time. Whether you’re shopping, grabbing a bite, or just walking around and people watching, there’s always something happening. The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market is a must if you’re in San Francisco especially if you love fresh food, supporting local businesses, and spending your weekends somewhere that truly feels like the heart of the city.
It has to be one of my favorite places on Earth, right next to Amsterdam. Anywhere that combines good food, water, vibrant life, ferries, trains, and excellent weather is a place I would try to visit every weekend between work trips.
Nice farmers market. It’s definitely far from European level but it’s good for San Francisco. The interior looks modern and fresh. They have a couple of spots with pastries, some spots outside with berries, and also have a roasted chicken spot outside! Overall there is nothing exceptional but you can find some quick bites there
The market is a vibrant place mainly for its atmosphere. There are quite a few vendors selling fruits, flowers, and prepared food. The flowers didn’t look fresh, and I don’t think the morning rush thinned out the better bunches. I have mixed feelings about the place. The vibe is lovely but the selection of produce could have been better. The products were of limited variety, and I didn’t get the vibrant abundance I was hoping for. It’s a great setting with potential but I might try a different day or time.
