We attended the SOMMDay School at Rooted Wine Bar inside Fleming’s in Tampa, and it could not have been a better experience. We booked through OpenTable and later realized it was their opening day for this class, which made the experience even more special. There were three of us, and we ended up being the only participants, which worked out perfectly. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and guided to the bar by our two sommeliers, Stephen and Casey. We were immediately met with genuine smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. It was one of our birthdays, and they went above and beyond by bringing out a Happy Birthday sign along with four chocolate truffles and a candle. That extra touch set the tone right away and made the experience feel personal and thoughtful. Stephen and Casey truly made the experience stand out. Their humor, knowledge, and stories about each wine and its background kept everything engaging and approachable. When we tried appetizers after the class, they paired wines specifically to each of our individual palates. All three pairings were dialed in and somehow managed to be exactly what each of us enjoyed most, which was impressive and thoughtful. Stephen and Casey continued to spend time with us even after our tasting making us feel genuinely welcome rather than rushed out. This was our first visit, and they absolutely set the bar high. I cannot say enough good things about the experience or about Stephen and Casey. We will definitely be back.
This is my second review for Fleming’s in Tampa, because it truly deserves it. It’s one of my favorite places, with consistently excellent service and incredible food and cocktails. My son and I love coming here for Tomahawk Tuesday, and it is always a solid, dependable, and enjoyable experience. Last year, they demolished the old building and built a completely new Fleming’s that is almost double the size (reopened a few months back). They’ve hired more servers and bussers and are now able to serve a much larger number of guests while maintaining the same high level of consistency and service ~ which is impressive. Our New York strip and filet, topped with lump crab meat, were outstanding. The Brussels sprouts and Fleming’s potatoes were absolutely delicious. The drinks were fantastic, and the desserts were as good as always. We were completely full and still couldn’t resist taking the cheesecake to go ~ and their lava cake remains one of the best! Huge praise to management for excellent training, attention to detail, and consistency. Fleming’s Tampa continues to set the standard, and we’ll definitely keep coming back.
We’ve been to Fleming’s several times, and the food is always good. Today, I want to give an honorable mention to our server, MJ, she was fantastic! She made great suggestions, was attentive, and had such a personable, welcoming attitude that really elevated our experience. When we come back, we’ll definitely be asking for her again. Sharing photos of our appetizer and dessert (both amazing!) we were too busy enjoying our entrees to remember to take pictures!
This place is beautiful. They offer a very comprehensive menu. Reservations recommended. We sat at the bar as we didn't have reservations. Service was a bit slow. It took 2 hours to get our dinner but it was very full. They have valet parking available on site. They also have a private room.
recently had dinner at Fleming’s and it was such a great experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was elegant but still comfortable, and the service was top-notch — attentive without being overbearing. Now let’s talk food — the steak was absolutely on point, perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. You can really tell they take pride in getting it just right. And the Fleming’s potatoes? Wow. Creamy, rich, and totally addictive — hands down one of the best sides I’ve ever had at a steakhouse. The only thing that fell a little short for me were the crab cakes — they were flavorful but a bit too mushy in texture for my taste. That said, it definitely didn’t take away from the overall meal. All in all, Fleming’s delivered an excellent dining experience, and I’ll definitely be back for another perfectly cooked steak and those unforgettable potatoes! 🥩🍷
