Timpano has an elegant and modern interior. The food was prepared in a timely fashion and tasted great. I highly recommend the Brunch Burger. The presentation could be better, but the taste was top notch.
Wife and I have been going to Tímpano for over a decade. A consistent appetizer that never fails is their mussels— so good. When trying a new restaurant we always compare to the best and no one has been able to come close. I understand the redesign a few years ago. Not a fan, but it was needed. However the live music is missed and now the atmosphere is like any other restaurant. Need to keep tables balanced and replace high top chairs. Nothing more annoying than a table shake. The booths are great but the high top tables are not it. Wait staff has always been great. Even during the busiest time of the season they seem to hire well and deliver excellence in service. Thank you!
The wife and I stopped by impromptu on a Monday afternoon. We sat at the bar and the Mrs. ordered beef carpaccio and I got a smoke old fashioned while she sipped on an Italian style margarita, all during happy hour(s) which takes place daily. Our bar tender was engaging and the drinks and food were delicious. If you want a vibe, this place crates one quite well. We’ll be back.
This was my third visit to Timpano after very enjoyable dinners in 2020 and 2022. I was excited that my niece selected Timpano for her 18th birthday family dinner. First, let me say that our server was excellent and I unfortunately don’t remember her name. (It does not appear on the receipt either.) The food, however, was a different story. The appetizers came out so quickly, I should have known they were likely scooped out of a warming tray because they were both just lukewarm. None of us said anything to the server or each other, but all agreed after the meal was over that both the meatballs and calamari should have been hotter, temperature-wise. My mother’s pasta dish had a scoop of whipped ricotta that was not mentioned on the menu. I suggested that she taste it before blending it into the dish. She was happy I did because she didn’t care for it. My sister and niece were satisfied with their pasta dishes as was I with my tuna saltimbocca. My brother-in-law said, unenthusiastically, that his salmon was okay. Perhaps most disappointing for me was the creamed spinach I ordered as my side dish. There was far more cheese than spinach and the cheese was thick. I did my best to fish out the spinach, but ultimately left at least half of the dish uneaten. Also, as the waitress may recall, I inquired about an unexpected ingredient in the dish that apparently was a stray raw mushroom. To the server’s credit, she took the spinach off the bill. My brother-in-law joked that it’s a good thing I’m not allergic to mushrooms. Since we were going to have birthday cake at home, we didn’t order dessert, but our server brought out some ice cream (or gelato?) with a candle for my niece. That was a nice touch that reinforces the 5-star rating for service. Given how far Timpano is from our homes in Lutz, it’s not on my rotation of go-to places and I always thought of it as a destination for special occasions. After Sunday evening’s visit (12/7/25), I’m not sure when I’ll return. (My sister said it’s not a place she’d revisit.) After talking it up, I was disappointed that the food didn’t make a good impression for everyone else in the party who were dining at Timpano for the first time.
They don’t have a kids menu or options so know that before you go. My kids were able to eat the noodles and we added on chicken but they said it didn’t have enough flavor lol. Overall the steak, salad, and noodles were very good. We also got Brussel sprouts, spinach and cheese (which we also got a side of chips and made it into chips and dips which were actually really flavorful) and mashed potatoes. All the sides were really good and my food was cooked to perfection. My mom’s tomahawk was overcooked but she said it was still tasty. Overall I’d go back. It was my birthday so they did give me champagne with a candle and ice cream.
