This is my second time getting a dog trained at Fon Canine's and my review from 3 years ago stands true. We are currently working with Maddie and are excited to see the difference in 4 weeks. She is knowledgeable, friendly, and very professional! Maddie is great!

Excellent training experience! You can really tell the instructors love dogs. They work well with both the animals and their owners. They’re patient, gentle, and still maintain a firm, effective training approach. Highly recommend!

Thank you Ricky! Our big boy is showing great improvement in his training. We couldn’t have done this without your help. This summer will be amazing with him at doggy beach!

We have done individual and group training at Fon’s, for our 75 pound 10 months old pit bull/mastiff/cane corso mix rescue Luna. It has made a world of difference in feeling more confident that we are in control, in any situation, especially with such a large guardian type breed. We want to make sure we are responsible dog owners, by training her early. And Fon’s has helped us to build the foundation for a well behaved dog. Fon’s was also helpful with training Luna to walk with my husband, who is in a wheelchair. When we first got her, she was all over the place, getting her paws and tail run over by the wheelchair. Now they walk together perfectly! Thank you Fon’s!

I had a really positive experience with Ricky at Fon's Canines for training on my German Shepherd. I constantly get complimented for how well behaved my dog is, and I attribute it to Fon's. These guys will teach you what is necessary to get your dog's behavior on point and to break bad habits fast.

Working with people like Fon, Lori, Madalyn, and the rest of Fon’s Canines staff was a great experience in a hard time. I purchased a trained service dog from Fon’s, was able to see him working with different dogs, and attend a class. I require a service dog to be able to go out and about. After my former service dog was forced to retire, I began searching for service dog/prospects. It is hard to judge any trainer from a distance, let alone one to whom you are entrusting such an important task. I felt confident enough in their judgment to contact them because they were clear that not every dog is cut out for service work. They take testing for service work seriously, and not every dog passes. This mattered to me as being told what you “want to hear” when looking for a service dog is bad (and dangerous) for all involved. I emailed them inquiring about service dog prospects. After talking to Fon, it was determined that one of their dogs had the temperament, intelligence and training level to do the job. Fon asked the right questions to determine what would need to be done for her to be “finished” a SD for my needs. They made sure that I was a suitable home to send one of their dogs to – she would be safe, cared for and loved. That was the final selling point for me. I doubt it was intended to be, but that told me what I needed to know about them. (Sidenote: Zaina happens to be from their Belgian Malinois line, so I will speak briefly about that aspect: She is a picture of perfect health. Her x-rays to check for hip/elbow dysplasia were excellent, as were her eyes and blood panels. I had a DNA health screening done and she is predictably 100% Malinois. They tested for ~300 genetic health risks, and she was clear on all of them. It is obvious that they take great care in their breeding program.) One of my main concerns was having a proper handover. A lot gets asked of service dogs and I wanted to make sure that I knew how to ask her properly (the commands) and what to expect. They had put the work into making sure that Zaina had the knowledge and experience to navigate situations confidently. In the time between my committing to getting Zaina and my flying in to get her (during which she was trained on tasks that are specific to me), Fon communicated often. He deliberately exposed her to situations that may test her to ensure her continued success with me. They gave me a lot of their time and effort over several days. I am grateful that they insisted on taking us (as a team) into many different situations, with Fon present to guide us. It helped her and I bond and was an opportunity for us to build trust in each other. Fon and Madalyn went over all of the different equipment. They explained why things should be done a certain way by explaining it from the perspective of the dog. Their way of looking at things made me a better handler, in just a few days. I happened to get the opportunity to attend one of the Fon’s Canines group classes, while there. It was a WONDERFUL experience! Honestly, I wish I lived nearby just for that alone. The training around a variety of dogs with differing personalities translates into real life. If you’re looking for a gift for the dog lover or dog owner in your life, signing them up for classes would be a win! Zaina’s level of training exceeded my expectations. They cared about it working for me and about her being confident and happy in her new life. The latter part was one of the best parts about the Fon’s – they genuinely care about her. Talent can get you far, but as it pertains to animals, how the person training them feels about doing so matters, and will show. She has great social skills, curiosity, confidence, and a want to work. Those things do not happen on accident. I truly cannot thank Fon enough for training such a wonderful girl and for how much he cares about the dogs and the people. She is the sweetest girl, a loyal life saver, and is always happy. I adore her, and I am spoiling her rotten, as promised. Your talent and hard work have given me my independence back.
