Although I have to drive 30 miles from Irving, TX, I love the wonderful concerts which the FWSO is able to give at the Bass Hall. The programming is a good mix of 18th and 19th century "classics" with enough of the 20th century and contemporary music to keep everyone pretty happy! This past week, listening to the Grieg piano concerto with Stephen Hough was a reunion of sorts: I've heard him concertize in New York, London, Dallas, and Ft. Worth. Oh, and leading off was the orchestra's delightful presentation of "Finlandia" by Sibelius - Bravi Tutti!
As a season ticket holder, I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the FWSO symphonic performances. The quality of the performances have been outstanding. This weekend’s Mahler 4th and Mozart program was wonderful.
We were blown away by the piano concerto! Just wow! And the Mahler piece was simply stunning! We are still talking, days later, about the fabulous performance of the symphony and the phenomenal conductor!
Always a great evening or afternoon but Alice in Wonderland with Bruce Woods dancers was particularly enchanting.
This was an incredible performance. The conductor was funny and involved and did an amazing job. The musicians were superb. It was a very memorable performance!
