Sam and Anthea are without a doubt the “dynamic duo”. Their knowledge and skill in training is incredible; there are no words. They go above and beyond and work seamlessly together as a team. Our puppy, Monash is now 4 months old. She started her life away from her mum and siblings at 7.5 weeks old. Sam took her home and showed her that it was going to be okay, where she was safe and loved and able to start navigating the world outside her original comfort zone. Sam taught her the basics and boundaries she needed to give her the all important foundations of crate training, toileting, basic important commands to give her direction and discipline. She was able to spend time hearing and watching Sam’s family from her safe place in her crate. When it was time to come out of her crate she would have fun playing with Sam’s well trained adult dogs under Sam’s supervision and be able to sniff the fresh grass and chase leaves blowing in the wind and enjoy a game of fetch. She visited Anthea’s property and would go with them to various places to help her become accustomed to different environments and noises and even a lift. We live in a small apartment hence it was especially important that Monash was given this head start under Sam’s and Anthea’s expert guidance. We continue to be forever grateful to them. We are now also taking advantage of Level 1 Manners course which is one of many courses they hold. These two ladies work all day and often including evenings and then put together notes and videos to send for their participants to follow and consolidate what was in the lesson. There are days also where the pups can spend the day on Anthea’s property with them both reinforcing commands learned and being free to run under constant supervision and entirely safe, enjoying the beautiful surroundings and smells. I could happily be my dog that day. So there is this and so much more that they offer. Their website is informative and easy to navigate. We will continue to take advantage of their services. We highly recommend these ladies to anyone looking to give their dog the best opportunity of a lifetime.
We can't thank Sam enough for her in house puppy training, with our 3rd pup Murphy. Murphy is an 18 week old Rotti that was too wild for inside. Sam was a wealth of information and showed us simple, but very effective exercises to do with Murphy, to help him transition back inside. We look forward to continually working with Found by the Hound as Murphys' skills develop.
My puppy Luna and I have just completed our Puppy Kindy class with Found By The Hound and trainer Anthea. I cannot speak highly enough of the whole experience, with the communication and professionalism displayed by Anthea being nothing other than excellent from start to finish. I have taken away from the training a wealth of information relating to dog behaviour, but more importantly a greater understanding of the overwhelming importance of my conduct and application of the training techniques shared with us. Even in five short weeks my overzealous young puppy has become calmed, focused and eager to learn, and we now have a strong foundation to build on. Thank you so much Anthea for sharing with us your astounding knowledge and guidance, and instilling in us the importance and value of the human involvement in creating ‘a good puppy’. My sincere thanks and gratitude.
We have just finished our third private lesson with Anthea. We were blown away by her obvious knowledge and experience and really appreciated the way she explained things to us without making us feel silly or embarrassed. She was so easy to work with and we've noticed a big improvement in our dog's behaviour. Thank you so much Anthea. We'd happily recommend you to anyone needing help with dog training.
First off, sorry it took me so long to write a review - I had to figure out how to do it! We’re on to our second German Shepard trained with Anthea. Sue and I thoroughly enjoyed the puppy kindy we did with the second Shepard. Anthea is a great educator for both humans and dogs. We would highly recommend Anthea from Found By The Hound, to anyone needing assistance with dog training.
