Super fun place, employees are awesome! I've been going here for forty years... I've had my three grown kids birthday parties here... And now we've adopted our grandson, so I take him here.. We especially love lessons on Saturday morning, then quiet skating on Sunday.. One Thursday, a month Dirty Debbie, host a homeschool Recess... It's so awesome to have a P.E class for kids to go and learn to skate.. So grateful for Fountain Valley skating rink!
We had my daughter’s birthday party at Fountain Valley Skating Center and it was such a great experience! The girls had an absolute blast getting on skates and trying it out together. The staff was so helpful and friendly, which made everything run smoothly. We made so many fun memories—definitely recommend for a party!
I’ve never felt more unwelcome at a skating rink than I did at Fountain Valley Skating Center. My interaction with Manager E. was very cold and dismissive. She was the only person I spoke with, and unfortunately, she left a really negative impression. I was new to the place, so I had a couple of simple questions. Instead of being helpful, she came off as irritated and dismissive. She barely looked at me, sighed a few times, and even rolled her eyes. Most of the time, she had her back turned to me while I was speaking. It felt like I was bothering her just by asking for help. Since she’s the manager and the first point of contact for customers, I expected a little more professionalism and basic courtesy. That didn’t happen. The whole interaction made me feel like I wasn’t welcome there at all. I almost walked out because of how uncomfortable the situation was, especially considering the entrance fee isn’t cheap. I only stayed because I had already driven there, spent the gas, and felt it would’ve been a waste of time to turn around. The rink itself was nice and spacious. But honestly, that didn’t make up for how poorly I was treated. Maybe the staff is friendlier toward regulars, but if you’re new, don’t expect a warm welcome. First impressions matter, and Manager E. did nothing to make mine a good one. I wouldn’t come back or recommend this place based on that experience alone.
Fountain Valley Skate Center is a terrible business. We booked our private event four months ahead of time and followed up ten days prior to the event to ensure everything was going well. The day of our private event, we learned they had also booked an entire elementary school for a private event at the same time. Sharon, who we booked through, even went so far as to make up a lie that I had rebooked the event instead of coming clean about making our event a money grab and booking an entire school. Our event was obviously ruined, and management did not wish to do anything about it. When I asked, he call Sharon regarding the booking lie, he told me she was unavailable (very convenient). I also mentioned that this was an obvious money grab as I had never seen the facility that insanely busy on a random Wednesday afternoon. I am disgusted in this business for their lack of integrity to hurt local customers for their own benefit. To lie about the event was even more disappointing. Our event was ruined, and our guests described the event as pure CHAOS. We will never use FVSC again and I will share this with everyone I know. Sadly, FVSC doesn’t care as there are not many skating options, but in the future, I will only use HOLIDAY SKATE in Orange as they are a small business with integrity and honesty. SHAME on FVSC!!
There’s a main parking lot and additional lot next door. There’s a window outside the entrance to purchase tickets before you enter. We came for a kid’s birthday party and walked straight in to check in with the hostess. The left side is where the birthday parties are seated. The right side is for open skaters. Great cheap fun entertainment for all ages and all level. It seemed like every 15 minutes they had a group activity in the rink for those who want to participate. They had a giant dice musical group chair game, race by levels, dancing, birthday shout outs, etc. they made sure that everyone was skating in one direction until it was time switch. For the birthday package, we had 3 hours of skating time and exactly 30 minutes of pizza time. We wanted to rent out the rink to cater our own food but it was sold out. So reserve way in advanced. There’s an arcade area with ticket games to redeem prizes. Snack area with movie theater concession items. Be sure to check the schedule for adult nights, family nights, theme nights, etc.
