Mr. Mackey, my driving instructor from Freedom 2 Drive, was truly the best instructor I could have asked for. From the very beginning, he created a comfortable and supportive learning environment that made it easy to build confidence behind the wheel. Learning how to drive can be stressful, especially for beginners, but Mr. Mackey had a way of making every lesson feel manageable and even enjoyable. One of the things that made Mr. Mackey stand out was his calm and patient nature. He never raised his voice or made me feel nervous when I made mistakes. Instead, he would calmly explain what went wrong and guide me on how to improve. His ability to stay relaxed helped me stay focused and think clearly while driving. He also took the time to listen whenever I had questions or needed extra help, making sure I fully understood before moving on. Most importantly, Mr. Mackey always made me feel safe. Whether we were practicing basic skills or driving in more challenging situations, I knew I was in good hands. His clear instructions and steady guidance gave me confidence not only during lessons but also as I began driving on my own. I want to share my experience with Instructor Mackey after my first one-on-one adult driving lesson. Going into this, I was extremely nervous and have struggled with severe panic attacks related to driving, so this was a big step for me. From the very beginning, Instructor Mackey created a calm and supportive environment that immediately put me more at ease. He was incredibly patient, positive, and understanding of my anxiety, which made a huge difference in my ability to stay focused and keep going. During the lesson, we worked on several foundational driving techniques. While some of these were things I had not been introduced to before, his way of explaining and guiding me through them helped everything click in a much clearer and more manageable way. He broke things down step by step and never made me feel rushed or overwhelmed. What stood out the most was his encouragement and steady support throughout the lesson. Even when I felt anxious, he remained calm and reassuring, which helped me push through moments that would have normally stopped me. Overall, Instructor Mackey is an excellent instructor—knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely supportive. I’m really grateful for this experience and feel more confident continuing my driving journey because of his guidance.
