I love the smell of old books. I picked up 2 interesting novels for just five bucks. I’ll definitely visit again as soon as I finish them

Best book shop in all of Lexington. I've lived in the city all of my life, and I have literally explored every bookstore there is in Lexington. The Friend's Book Cellar has been around for a couple of decades now, and it is constantly evolving. A huge portion of my book collection comes from the Cellar. You never know what treasures you'll discover when you meander down into the Central Library's basement for a little exploration.

Always on my stops in Lexington! Great books available. Staff is friendly and helpful. Never know what you will find. Also have a website for purchasing items.

Obviously anytime you can get a book sale it's a good thing. If you are in Lexington stop by the library go to the basement (just follow the signs) browse and peruse hundreds...maybe a few thousand books for sale. There are dvds and prints also for sale. The staff are helpful and the atmosphere is great. Tremendous selections and did I mention. The cost...pennies on the retail cost dollar. Everything we come back to Lexington we hit the Book Cellar..you should, too. Support the library and find yourself a great deal.
