Came here for Thanksgiving tuesday and had a great time! We had 2 new skaters with us and they rented skate mates. We loved that it was half price (just in case the kiddos didnt love it) and instead the new skaters are now looking forward to trying lessons and coming to homeschool day! The rink was spacious enough not to feel crowded and the staff were all friendly and kind, helping the kiddos out when needed. Adults who are not skating do not need to pay so the grandparents could watch! How fun! We didnt get to try the food this time but i did notice the prices were reasonable. Looking forward to coming again sometime!
We had a fantastic time at this place. The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome. They engaged with the kids by playing games, which added to the fun. It was a great atmosphere, and my children loved every moment. Highly recommend this place.
**Extremely Disappointed – Unprofessional and Rude Staff Behavior at Our Child’s Birthday Party** We recently hosted a birthday party at this establishment for our child and had a group of around 40 guests, many of whom made additional purchases beyond the party package. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing due to the unprofessional behavior of one staff member and the lack of accountability from management. The incident began when the birthday girl was called on stage, as part of the venue's celebration process. Instead of encouraging or supporting the moment, an employee (she said her name was either *Cora* or *Laura*) aggressively yelled at the birthday girl to get off the stage, which shocked both the children and the adults present. Later, around 8:15 PM — the official end of our party — while we were watching the birthday girl open her gifts, the same employee rudely approached our group and abruptly told us our time was up. While we understood that the party was over, the way she delivered this message was completely inappropriate. She slammed her hands on the wall partition, used an aggressive tone, displayed hostile body language, and demanded we pay the bill immediately. It’s important to note that she was *not* our assigned party host. When I asked her if she was okay (because her behavior seemed more emotionally driven than professional), she replied, “You don’t have to leave but you have to move because I need to clean.” Meanwhile, multiple other party tables were still left dirty and unattended. Her demeanor continued to be condescending, with eye-rolling and attitude throughout the interaction. This level of rudeness — especially toward a group that had spent a significant amount of money and brought in many guests — is unacceptable. Most concerning, however, was that she yelled at *children*. That alone should be enough for immediate corrective action. I informed a man named Nicholas (who appeared to be either the owner or manager) about the situation. While he initially seemed concerned, his response was ultimately dismissive. After I described everything, he simply asked, “Do you need help taking your things out?” He did not offer any genuine apology, reassurance, or sign that the issue would be addressed. To make matters worse, the employee in question was later overheard at the snack bar mocking our party to other staff members. This entire experience was beyond disappointing. We were respectful throughout, despite several additional issues, including: * Cheese sticks we paid for were never delivered (they ran out) * Food safety concerns (same gloves used for multiple food items) * Some children even felt sick after eating the pizza The only positive part of the experience was the polite young man who handed out skates and the welcoming girls at the front desk. Sadly, that does not make up for the overall treatment we received. I will not be returning to this location and cannot recommend it to anyone looking to host a party. The environment is not good for a child’s party, and the lack of professionalism — especially from staff working around children — is alarming. I will also be reporting the food safety concerns to the appropriate health authorities.
Husband and I love to roller skate, as we have all our life, now in our mid 70s. Funcity Skate is a clean, well maintained rink with a fun black light decor and not crowded on Wednesday adult nights, which we have enjoyed for the past 4 months, we are regulars. The staff and owner claim to play 70s, 80s and 90s music, which has been a good mix except for last Wednesday night, Oct. 1. However, this past Wednesday mostly rap was played, not skating music. We noticed that when good 70s music is played there are more skaters on the floor enjoying the beat, no matter what age. When we mentioned this to the young man who is managing as well as skating, he said they play a mix of 70s, 80s and 90s and he will take requests. My husband told him we did not care for all rap or mostly rap music. Maybe mentioning this issue in a review will help get back to the music program advertised, which we truly enjoy on our skating night out.
Our students had an amazing time during their STEM field trip to this skating rink! The activities were engaging, and the staff was friendly. However, the wait for food was longer than expected. With 100 kids scheduled to attend, we hoped for smoother preparation on that front. Overall, it was a fun experience, but improving the food service would make it even better!
