I went here right before Christmas and loved my nails by kelvin. The atmosphere was good. This time I went back and it was anything but enjoyable. I had an appt, was seen 15 minutes after. I get dip and it was a disaster to begin with. See picture, one hand has like 7 layers and the other has 3. It's noticeable and annoying. When it grows out the thicker one will get stuck in my hair. Pretty disappointed in my visit this time. I am giving 3 stars because it has potential but needs to be consistent

If you like long nails like I do i highly recommend Jonas! Hes excellent at his work, and very fast. Prices are alittle higher but the service is very nice and kind. My full set was $350. And pedicure $105 (I choose the $75 hot stones with French tips…) and eye brows was $13 (highest price I’ve seen by far) It’s a beautiful shop but it is a bit expensive and discounts are rare. So be prepared for that. (I’ve been 7 times and earned $5 lol ) but if you need something done they take walk in and are very friendly.

This was my second visit to Gate City, and once again I left beyond satisfied. Rose did my winter nails and absolutely nailed the design. It’s so refreshing to show inspiration photos from online and actually get exactly what you asked for. Rose is patient, detailed, and clearly takes pride in her work. Daniel is the other technician I’ve seen here, and they’re just as talented. I look forward to coming back for my next fill in.

Make sure you ask how much your nails are beforehand. I was charged $80 for 1 nail fix and a refill. I came in a week ago to get a refill 3 nails cracked because they didn’t refill the whole nail. I didn’t even mention it but they knew I had just saw them. 8 days ago. They didn’t do the original foundation but My nails now are different sizes. No longer a nice natural shape. Bulky!! It’s disgusting how they treat woman of color. The owner should be ashamed. She is the only one who I trust to do my nails! When I came in for a refill the first time I specifically asked for her. The husband said she wasn’t available after speaking with her. I saw her walking around and even came by to watch the specialist take my old design off from my original set. Why not just do my nails. I really only come for her work. I was banned for not paying $80 when 8 days ago I paid $60 I don’t understand! It’s unfair. I look like the turkey I’ll be eating on thanksgiving!

This was my first time coming here, i’ve been looking for a place I can get my nails done. Brooke was very gentle, and she was so sweet. I had a great time, and can’t wait to come back in a couple weeks! She is so good with the drill and my nails aren’t bumpy, super impressed with this place. They also have refreshments and drinks for you to sip on while you get your nails done. Next time I’ll be getting both my pedicure and nails done. Thank you !
