8 of us arrived @ 645pm on sun night. No reservation and no wait. We had a cocktail at the bar. A genji-tini and a bloody Mary. Very tasty and about $8.00 ea. The bartender was friendly and upsold me on the drink. (She was cute). She should of wiped down the bar as we sat. Not filthy but melting ice cubes etc. We sat at our table. The ambiance was good. They bring a gong out and ring it while singing happy birthday. The toddler we had with us received his birthday plate which was a carved pineapple boat with cherries and umbrellas. It was cute and he loved it. Im out of order. The boat came after dinner. The chef came with his cart to the table and began his show. Hot grill, a little oil and alot of flame with some fancy spatula flipping. A couple of other grill tricks and the show was about half way done. About 10 minutes for the crab rangoon. I think they forgot the egg rolls because it took about 20 minutes or so to get them. Both item's were tasty. The egg rolls weren't piping hot. About luke warm. If youre planning on eating together all at once, forget it. There's one cook timing out everyone's separate dishes so they come out in stages. 1st was veggies. My ahi tuna steak was perfectly rare and the first entre` served. They serve basically one person at a time and whatever sides you have ie: rice, noodles etc. Basically get cold while waiting for your entre. Being an ex cook in a high volume restaurant, I would of got all the food going at once while timing it out. Our orders were more than manageable for one cook on a about a 4 foot grill. Everyone should of had hot food at very close to the same time. However you are ultimately paying for the show they put on. Alot of the show was spatula flipping etc with alot of spatula banging for the noise effect. That's old news for me. However, for a 1st time experience it would be somewhat impressive. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The cook had to call for 2 more separate orders of scallops so I think they forgot them. That of course made the rice and veggies the we had cold. Overall a fun experience but I wouldn't pay the fairly high price we were charged. 8 of us was about $380.00 with our $40 tip. We tipped the cook as well. Personally I won't go again.
I just wish I could give a review on the food. However, we had a reservation for 6:30. We arrived just before that, and was advised that it would be about a 15 minute wait as they had to seat a large group. Okay, no problem. about 25 minutes later after they sat 2 large groups, they came and sat us our group of 4 with 2 groups of 2. (one of those groups of 2 was apparently a VIP of the manager as they received a small appetizer and they also received a shot each. which is fine. That did not bother me until) It was a while until the waitress came and took our drink order, and then she finally came back with our drinks. she then asked if we were ready to place our order and we stated yes.. we did not need any more time. So after placing our order, we got our soup and then we got our salads. then we waited and we waited. and should i say we waited.. no one came over and advised us what was going on, why we were waiting for so long.. not like this was a new experience with this type of dining at the other similar place we would have been catching the shrimp by this time. and we still continue to wait. then we stated that we would be packing up our left overs by this time.. still waiting and we had no chef yet. we had been there for over an hour, this was for my son in laws birthday, and needless to say he was not having a good time. He went to get the car and we asked for the bill. The waitress stated that she was sorry for the wait that she just spoke with the manager and was advised to comp the table some appetizers. I advised her that unfortunately it was too little too late and they should have been at our table way before this to explain the situation. perhaps it would have been acceptable. Unfortunately, due to this we will not be giving this establishment another chance to redeem themselves. which is too bad. Now I know i did not spend any money as they did not make us pay for the drinks that we had. nor the salad or soup. but if we would have stayed it would have been well over $100
My family ate dinner here to celebrate my husband's birthday. This restaurant was his choice and I think he had a good time here. Our waitress was great and the chef was good and kept everyone smiling. The food was all tasty. We ordered appetizers and enjoyed them along with the soup and salad. The fried rice and noodles were good too.
Always a wonderful time coming out - usually for a celebration! It can be fun also to share a table with strangers if you’re in a smaller group, if you’re into that sort of thing. Most recently we went for a birthday/anniversary, party of two on a busy Saturday. Told us it would be a 30 minute and put us in the bar area with neat lantern lighting - what felt like minutes later they already had a table for us! I wish I remembered our chefs name - he had a sign on his cart that said “warning: my humor may offend you”, well we loved his dry and fun sense of humor!! And I cannot say enough good things about our server Viera, super attentive, sweet and lovely lady.
Great place to celebrate a birthday or pretty much anything! Besides tasty food you are also getting a cooking lesson and entertainment. Our chef Rick was not only a good cook but pretty funny. Who could ask for more?!?!
