After being in my cars dealership for some software work and receiving a health check I was informed my car needed a tyre, so to Gilnahirk. When I arrived, they rushed the job - got there at 4:50 and they couldn’t see to me until nearly 5:30 due to the queue. Understandably busy and no issue waiting, however when they got to me it was clear they wanted to close up. The tyre wasn’t balanced, and the pressure was off compared to the others. I also asked for a premium tyre and got a random off brand option. As soon as I left, the car pulled left, and the steering wheel was off-center. I went back on Saturday, and they dismissed it, saying a tyre change couldn’t cause this. I suggested could it be alignment, and was told getting that done would be tricky, they were busy! After a quick walk around the car and examining the tyre I was told me to come back Monday. Apparently they had better tyres coming in and the one they fitted had known potential faults. But since my car had just been thoroughly checked at the dealership, I knew there were no issues beforehand so it was an alignment issue, a result of the tyre change on Thursday. In the end, I took it to another tyre fitting company - well known and reputable in NI, where they checked the alignment, replaced the tyre Gilnahirk had fitted, and also the other side. The alignment was significantly off on the side Gilnahirk worked on which they provided the data to show and were quite surprised how much it was out by. It’s really disappointing as I thought I could trust Gilnahirk with this. Lesson learned.

Had two front tyres fitted here. Both were significantly over-inflated (3.0 and 2.8 bar vs. 2.2 bar spec) and imbalanced, which affects braking and causes uneven wear. I emailed them about this and got no response. Check your tire pressures before leaving if you use this place.
