This place is a well kept secret! It is clean, spacious, somewhat hidden, and has a good vibe. We held a memorial celebration for a friend, and the staff quickly accommodated us. Yes, good things come out of Oakland!
Hands down one of the best recreational centers to visit in this great city of ours that we call Oakland CA.
Nice rec building and center but beware of safety. The ball diamond next to San Pablo ave and across from notoriously violent gas station is not safe. 9/22 spray of bullets as gunman ran across park left - bystander shot 2x in back. Third shooting episode in 10 days. Passing thru or chill few minutes low risk , but 1 hour there increases the odds. This is far from 1st victim here and won’t be last. Seeing kids huddled behind dugout big warning. Don’t ignore this.
One of the best places to play basketball, especially indoors. We run some of our basketball league games there and it even has a shot clock with a nice spacious court with bleachers and even a stage (we utilize NBA rules/format, email us if you’re interested). Also outside there’s a playground with soft surface, outdoor blacktop court, and baseball field. We have only run our leagues at this location on weekends and can say that it seems on weekends, this modern, kid-friendly venue appears under-utilized.
Great place for afterschool programs and summer camp.... All the staff are nice and professional.... My kids L❤VE REC CENTER... Thanks for the great work....Kola, Dominique, Jasmine, and ....
