This is the best Chinese food spot in the South Bay. Excellent food and equally excellent service from everyone there. They recently added a huge variety of new tofu dishes, so if you are vegetarian you are in luck. Ive tried quite a few and they are the bomb!!! Don't sleep on the lunch menu either. Support a small local spot in lieu of a corporate giant!
We had sliced pork, salt and pepper chicken,won ton soup and my daughter had sum noodles. Let me tell you the food was so good and with our fortune cookies we also got the cookies with the almonds in the middle.
The moo shu wraps were already filled when the food was served. They were torn, soggy, and messy. I have never been served pre-filled moo shu wraps. I could not put the plum sauce into the wrap as I have always done. I had to smear it on top, making the dish even messier. When I fill my wraps, I put a lot of vegetables into them, including filling them end to end. Instead, my wraps were not full and had empty wrap at the ends, so my first and last bites were just flour wrap. Receiving the vegetables inside the wraps also meant that there was less to the entree. I normally have a pile of vegetables to take home, but not in this case. My photo shows four wraps, but there were five. The quality of the vegetables was very good, but I was not happy with the dish because of the aforementioned. All of the other food that my guests and I had was otherwise good. Service was good if slightly inattentive, but staff was easily found when needed. The complimentary crispy noodles and dipping sauce before the meal and the fortune cookies and almond cookies after the meal added positively to the experience.
This is hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant! Their Garlic Pepper...ANYTHING is simply amazing! I seriously wish they'd bottle and sell their garlic/pepper mixture. All their dishes are super yummy! The food always arrives quickly and piping hot too. The staff is super nice and, at this point, has my go-to order memorized by now. You're definitely missing out if you don't give them a try!
This is your typical Cantonese Chinese food restaurant. My husband and I just got back from Mexico and were looking for a spot that would be open on New Year's day, that was close to the freeway on our way home to Whittier. This place really hit the spot. Their hot and sour soup was spot on. My husband was offered yellow chilies. He did not know what he would get, but he was very pleased with the large yellow chilis. He loved them. It's the first time I have seen a Chinese restaurant cater to Mexican tastes. We ordered the Canton Chicken because it had vegetables. It was crunchy and yummy with the broccoli perfectly cooked. The Canton chow mein was very tasty and had good flavor. I think we found our go to spot after returning from our trips to Mexico. The place was super clean, service was great and the food came right away. I really liked this place because of its convenient proximity to the CBX and the 805 freeway. The prices were reasonable and we ended up taking leftovers home because it was an abundant amount of food. We ordered three dishes from which 3 or 4 people could eat.
