This store is so great. It's got so many different books that you could get lost looking at each one for hours. Green Apple Books has cultivated an amazing atmosphere that feels like walking into the concept of a book. They check your bags when you walk in, so be aware of that. The prices are also very reasonable.

Back in high school, 25 years ago, I often visited this bookshop after school. When I returned home in 2017, I was amazed to find it still standing and as special as ever! I stopped by recently to browse countless books and made a purchase. Despite reading digital books during the pandemic, I still miss the smell of books and turning pages with my fingers! ✨💪🏼✨📚✨📖✨ And all the staff are so kind and friendly.

One of the bookstores in the city that I think can be considered historical and cultured. Two clean floors of organized books that's great just to browse through. Simple but charming. Prices aren't bad and the staff is always willing to help out and recommend interesting reads. The community around it is also very relaxed and trusting. If you're in the area and a bibliophile, or even just want to see a mainstay of San Francisco, check this place out!

One of three outstanding bookstores I can name in San Francisco, and the one I visit the most by far. Today I took my 9 and 11 year old goddaughters and we all found something before the meter ran out. I’ve already read Paul Kingsnorth’s brilliant, incisive new Against the Machine and I was glad to see the book displayed prominently. Required—and delightful—reading!
