I've had beard trims done all over the country and world. Groom came highly recommend..No one answered the phone to confirm they were comfortable with a very large beard trim so I booked an appointment online. Clean and streamlined shop.. Guillermo was kind enough but unfortunately did not listen and being in the hair industry that is a massive misstep. I asked for 1.5 inches removed and touched up. First scissor stroke was over 4 inches!! I knew then that there was no remedy for this and had him continue. It's sad that a stylist or barber can't understand measurements and basically cut my beard in half. Cheek lines mid aligned and beard was mid shapen requiring going to another barber to fix. All this compounded by being one of the most expensive beard trims ever. Overall extremely disappointed with Groom and would not recommend them for large beards in Chicago.

Took my son to get his haircut with Brittany, and she was absolutely amazing! She was so friendly and patient, and she made my little one feel totally comfortable the whole time. His haircut turned out perfect ☺️ Clean and stylish, exactly what we wanted. You can tell she really loves what she does. I actually enjoyed the whole experience just as much as he did! Definitely will be coming back to see Brittany again!! :)

A short story regarding my haircut with Brittany Dubowski Lost and without hope, I wandered around Chicago like a scruffy dog. My hair was a mess and my confidence was low. I heard a soft buzzing in the distance; was it a weed wacker or a chain saw? NO! It was much more inviting. I hastily made my way to the entrance of a small and unassuming business with little decor but a warmth that caused my heart to glow. A woman named Brittany greeted me and smiled in a comforting way, giving me the confidence to follow her into a sequestered chair. I shyly requested that she do what she does best. She offered recommendations, tips and style choices that I rapidly processed. With haste and determination, she started on my hair. Like an artist, sculpting a god out of marble, her precision was unmatched. She worked for about 30 minutes sculpting, shaping, and trimming to take away not only the rag that sat atop my head but also the stress of a long work week. She spoke about life in a way that brought joy. Her electric energy provided an infectious excitement. She turned the chair around and began to wash my hair; she scrubbed away the clippings and my insecurities, resulting in a soft and natural sheen that brought a strange resurgence of confidence. A fantastic performance that would get her into Juliard, Harvard, or Cambridge if they compared what she was able to do to art. I left after paying with a newly found energy that resulted in compliments from family, friends, and strangers alike. I will certainly go back. P.S. The give you a discount on the parking thing across the street.

I recently tried Groom for Gentlemen in River North after months and months of looking for a new stylist. My search is finally over. Kate was beyond fantastic. She was inquisitive, thorough, and confident - a total pro. The haircut she provided was next level compared to anything I have received recently. I am extremely pleased and am looking forward to returning to Groom for Gentlemen and Kate.
