Haegele’s Bakery is an absolute gem! Their jelly doughnuts are out of this world — soft, fresh, and perfectly filled. And the chocolate chip cookies? Pure nostalgia — they taste just like the ones from childhood, warm, buttery, and comforting. Every time I come back to Philly, I have to stop here and stock up. Love Haegele’s! Hands down the best bakery I’ve ever been to and I’ve lived all over the country. We live an hour away now and still consider the drive worth it. It’s a family owned business. With an old world charm that hasn’t changed in the 30 years we’ve been going. Everything they make is incredible. So much better than the stuff that passes for ‘baked goods’ in supermarkets.

Stopped in to pick up some goodies for my boyfriend’s birthday. The woman behind the counter was so incredibly nice and helpful with her recommendations. I originally went for the butter cake, but ended up also taking home a bee cake (delicious), 2 slices of Bavarian cream cake (incredible) and the apple strudel. The bakery is CASH ONLY, but even with all of the items I purchased, it was only around $15 which I thought was a great deal. We will absolutely be turning into repeat customers and we will be back.

How did I not know about this bakery. It was absolutely delicious. We purchased a cake for my wifes birthday which we did not eat yet but the cream donuts were fresh and delicious. The woman running the store was very friendly and even put a cake aside since I could not make it until later in the afternoon. The prices are probably the best around for the quality of the food you get. We will be back to sample more now that I found this bakery.
