We had a great time on the private fishing charter in Hells Canyon!! Captain Harry and Kevin matched our group’s energy and sense of humor, keeping us laughing and in the fish all day. We caught 3 sturgeon, hooked some steelhead and some bass also. I highly recommend staying at the Parsonage Airbnb and stopping for some good food and beverages at 1906 Brews to round out the experience. Jill took great care of us there!

Hands down one of the coolest trips I’ve ever taken. Captain got us on the fish we were looking for and the deckhand had us rigged up for success. Super cool people running this charter!

We had the time of our lives! Homer and Carl gave us an incredible adventure filled with thrills, history of the area, and personalized attention at every turn. Huge Bighorn sheep, eagles, smallmouth bass, a 6+ foot sturgeon are just some of the things to be observed. The BBQ'd baby back rib lunch at the dam was top notch. Don't take this trip on one of those huge barge boats with 50+ people on board---go with Hammer Down on a more personalized, detailed tour. Their concern for our safety, information provided, and incredible boatsmanship showed through the entire trip. The best part of the trip was my wife's 15 foot belly-flop from the top of White Sturgeon Rock, Epic!

Just back from an incredible weekend of fishing with Hammer Down River Excursions. Every detail of our visit to White Bird and the Snake River exceeded expectations. Out on the water, Harry and Dawson were the best! Bass, rainbow and carp in addition to three sturgen - one of which was 8' 9". Thanks Homer and team! We can't wait to return.

This is the only way to fish when visiting Whitebird. The booking process is so easy. Everything we needed for an awesome adventure was provided on this trip, including the best hot lunch. Professionalism and knowledge of the Snake River sets HD a cut above the rest. We always felt safe and well taken care of. We started out in this little fishing hole, expertly guided by Homer. With-in 1 cast we started catching beautiful bass, one after another! The trip only got better as the day progressed. Hole after hole produced more and more fish, ending with a spirited sturgeon that gave a fight to remember! All 7 of us on this excursion now consider our guide like family. We will never fish with anybody else. Thanks for the memories, Hammer Down! We will definitely be back soon.
