Archer loves it here! He’s a regular in Big Hound Town and gets so excited every time we drive up. He seems to really like all the employees as well and I love that we can watch him interact with dogs and staff on the Webcams. We started him here when he was four months old and they helped him transition from little to big keeping in mind the safety of all of the dogs in their care.
I have been taking my dog here since May and the staff is awesome. Very friendly and will let you know if anything is going on with your pup that needs attention. I drop of my pup and I feel comfortable and not worried. I was very skeptical of bringing my dog at first because he has never been to a day care, but it turns out my dog loved it and it relived my stress from knowing he is not home alone while I am at work. I would recommend Happy Hound. I would like to thank the staff for being great to me and my sweet boy Benteley.
Oliver was in for a grooming session today, I tried to cut the hair around his one eye as well as my daughter we couldn’t get it done however, the groomer was able to get it done Oliver only has one eye so it was really important that he had that trimmed.
We are no longer bringing our dog to Happy Hound due to three incidents involving the care of our sweet girl. When she was 4 months old, our puppy was not properly fed. Three staff members told me she had received lunch and dinner, but after multiple follow-ups, I found out she was given a second breakfast and lunch instead. A manager admitted the staff had been “lazy”. I saw on the live camera that a handler dropped a tissue, which our puppy grabbed. He responded by pushing her to the ground with force, ripping the tissue from her mouth, and waving it in her face before discarding it. Management claimed he was being “assertive”, but the footage looked aggressive. Most recently, at 8 months old and 15 pounds, our puppy was moved from Little Hound Town to Big Hound Town without our consent. I was told she was placed there because she was trying to play with other dogs - not aggressive, just playful. I was also told she had been moved to Lounge Around Town instead, but when I followed up, I was informed that room wasn’t even open that day. Our puppy was visibly unhappy on camera, and the placement was not appropriate or honestly communicated. She often came home exhausted and overstimulated. At first, we thought it might just be an adjustment period, but over time it became clear that she was not happy there — and based on what we saw on the live feeds, many of the dogs didn’t seem to be either. We’ve chosen to end our dog’s care at Happy Hound. After the owner, Suzanne’s dismissive responses and inability to hold accountability, I hope management takes this review seriously, not to defend themselves, but to reflect deeply and make necessary changes - for their clients but most importantly, for the beloved dogs in their care.
Excited for my little one to embark on her training and socialization journey with Happy Hound. From 1st steps have felt listened to, informed, and appreciated. I can tell this will be a rewarding experience for my dog:) and I'll learn a lot as well!
