Shockwave therapy at HealthWell completely changed my recovery. After dealing with intense pain for two months, Shockwave therapy allowed me to return to sports and stay active again after just a few treatments. After dealing with issues that I didn't realize were related to hypermobility for more than a year, Sonam was the first person to clearly diagnose me with hypermobility and connect the dots about how it was causing my chronic pain. Since an MRI showed tendinitis in my rotator cuff, Sonam suggested shockwave therapy which has been a huge game changer in terms of reducing my pain significantly within just a few sessions. This is something that a year of different physical therapy and doctor's appointments were not able to address. The therapists at Healthwell are very empathetic and knowledgeable and I would highly recommend visiting if you are feeling frustrated or suspect you might be hypermobile. I feel hopeful that with this treatment and accompanying physical therapy, I will be able to go back to the activities that I enjoy.

I can't say enough good things about Sonam at Healthwell PT! She is hands down the best physical therapist I’ve ever had, and I’m so grateful to have found her. As someone living with chronic conditions like POTS, hEDS, CCI, and migraines, I’ve encountered many PTs who aren’t equipped to handle such complexity—but Sonam is different. She welcomes me in with open arms and treats my conditions with a holistic, interdisciplinary approach that truly works. She’s always up-to-date with the latest therapies, modalities, and technologies, which gives me so much confidence in her care. Most recently, I received shockwave therapy for a long-standing Achilles tendinitis injury, and I felt a noticeable improvement after just one session. It’s been a game-changer! Healthwell PT is a place with heart and soul. I have had longstanding injuries needing PRP/Rolfing/chiropractic even stem cell therapy for 15 years. I finally wanted to find a place that specialized in hypermobility. From my first visit with Sonam I felt like someone finally understood all that I went through. A podcast that she recommended completely changed the understanding of me and my body. Every time I go in to see her, she genuinely is happy to see me. She incorporates so many different techniques in her care of me. Manual therapy/cupping/adjusting my SI joint and sprained ankles/Feldenkrais. I even get to workout on the pilates reformer and carraige. She also has shockwave therapy and goes above and beyond when treating me with this. The prices are extremely affordable for San Francisco. Her and other therapists are not trying to sell me anything and actually tell me to conserve my funds until I would really need a shockwave treatment. I was so impressed with Megan and Carolyn (2 other PT's) as well. I learned at how much my breathing and diaphragm is affecting my fascia and how it can cause ligament tears and sprains. This is so different than other PT places that may double book and then you spend the rest of the time with an aide. Don't get me wrong, aides are great, but they may not understand manual therapy. Or even places that I have been where they have a trainer that is managing 4-6 clients at a time. Healthwell is a place that I come not just for my physical health, but because Sonam and others truly care, it is also amazing for my mental health! This office is a treasure. Their front desk staff is kind, organized and prompt as well!
